Valve cover hose to intake will experience oil creep over time.
A catchcan in this circiut will collect the oily gasses which you can drain off.

Is there one for each cylinder bank?

You can get them for both sides but there's almost nothing coming out of the other side.

Me too. The CJPP video talks about of the oil getting pulled in by one breather rather than other. Not sure why.

What's the advantage? What happens if you don't have one?

I mean, why are they not fitted as standard?

The amount of oil isn't enough to really trouble the engine hence they're not a factory-fit.

It's only petrolheads that are picky about how their cars are run and looked after that would prefer their engines not to ingest any oil via the intake at all.
