Just placed a deposit down on a GT500. Picking it up tomorrow from a small town dealership. Salesman states the catch can, gurney flap and splitters are in a box stating for "post sale". He said they aren't installing them and is seeing if they will install the valance. I can see the track items but why would they hesitate to install the valance? Is that normal?

The wicker bills, gurney flap, and oil catch are “owner installed” items, but the splitter should be installed by the dealer if you want them to.

Personally, I wanted to install everything myself, but they should at the very least install the splitter. That said, a good dealership will install all of them for you if they so chose.

Sometimes they will, other times they won't. All the dealer is required to do is what is on the pdi checklist. I believe the front splitter is all they have to install. The rest is just going over the car as per the checklist.

Correct, his dealer said they were not required to instal anything other than the splitter. Also, local dealer order the stripe section we talked about. We’ll see if it’s the right one

I agree with Tim. Do it yourself, that is what I did. I took the car home with all the tape on the paint, plastic on the seats, the splitter and everything else in their packaging, cleaned it up and installed all the parts myself.
