Cat back performance gains.....

I'm getting the Frpp sport exhaust and I keep hearing that there is no performance gains from the cat back exhaust systems. This will be the first time in 20 years I haven't gained from going with better flowing mandrel bent exhaust over factory exhaust. Is the new mustang exhaust that good??

I've been away from mustangs for years so would love some insight.

My gt with a gibson cat back made 5 more Hp on the Dyno.

Actual 5, not under. And it repeated the result 3x

It's not that it's that good, but it's not as bad as before.

Real world tests are showing negligible gains from purely the exhaust itself (under 5hp). Anyone claiming more or it should be more are full of it IMO (and there are less than you can count on 1 hand claiming this)

Don't forget the fact that you can shed about 30 pounds by removing the stock cat back and going aftermarket.

30 pounds is a good amount of horsepower offset. So while they really don't make that much power there are other positives beyond the sound.

Agreed losing any kind of weight on this car helps.

Weren't you also one of the people arguing with numerous reputable shops about the Stainless Works exhaust in that thread causing HP loss when it has been proven otherwise from multiple users and reputable shops?

Dont forget their were 2 reputal shops that proved that system to loose power, now if u want to go their again,since the shop ur talking about has his race car sponcered by sw, how much credit u think I put in them results.I let that go but if u want to start it up again we can go their.I think the only test results that any member should believe is our own members doing test with data, leaving manuf that have interest out of It.But,s that is just my opinion.

Well hell I guess the dyno companies are going to go out of business lol.So I guess its save to say ur dyno probably manipulated too lol.Some guys want as much hp as they can get out of an exhaust, they have to pay for it, so it matters to them.

Hey dude I am going to buy the magnaflow comp exhaust system and have It dynoed as nd data logged on jan 5th.Listen to some sound clips and see if u like the sound.I will have the other Information jan5t.Hope this helps u some.
