How's everyone's addiction coming along? My HCM carbon dash overlay (upper part near the dash plaque) is peeling off toward the left side and multiple attempts to get it to restick are failing so looks like another piece is gonna be needed. Also have my next cf piece all planned out for over winter. The addiction is real!!

I keep going back and forth on outfitting my interior with carbon fiber trim to replace plastic panels. Iā€™d leave the aluminum PP1 dash trim alone, but was thinking about...
-The plastic around the infotainment display and track switches
-The plastic on the armrests on the doors by the window switches
-The plastic on the doors around the interior door handles/lock buttons
-The plastic around the shifter
-The rings around the speakers (maybe... likely just the tweeters, if at all)

Thoughts? I seriously keep debating if this would look good or tacky. I kinda wish I could get some type of painted/powdered aluminum and/or leather-padded material instead as CF seems to often be hit or miss once actually installed. I also wouldnā€™t mind changing out the horn/airbag cover on the steering wheel but there doesnā€™t seem to be any viable options there beyond that carbon fiber ā€œstickerā€ thing which kinda looks awful since itā€™s surrounded by plastic otherwise. :p
My 2019ā€™s 401a interior is such a nice upgrade over my previous 401a 2016, I just want to bring it up to an even more ā€œpremiumā€ level by removing some of the cheaper plastics to ā€œcompleteā€ the upper scale look. :sun:

This is likely what I'd be buying:

Just in case you carbon fiber addicts have not seen this:

The disease is now fatal...have fun
ā€œHi,

Thanks for the interest in SpeedKore Performance Group Carbon Fiber Components. The production level molds we have currently are for 15-17 Mustangs only. We did build a 2018 Mustang convertible for SEMA last year, but due to time constraints we were unable to make production level molds. It is our goal to offer 2018 Mustang parts in the future, check back with us after SEMA and we should have a better idea of timing.

Tom

Today was a sad day as Trufiber A72-RL hood was delivered damaged, which is a shame since the hood is light enough that I can easily pick it by the lid with one hand. I would've kept it for a discount and either wrap or paint it if the damage was limited to cosmetic scratches. However, rear right corner has a large crack where it bolts onto the car.

Trufiber customer service was great and they will ship a new one out tomorrow. Since all lightweight hoods for S550 are on backorder, I opted for the regular version of A81, which is the design that I originally wanted. Perhaps regular version will hold up better in transit.

Finally received the replacement hood (A81 non-race version) and installed it yesterday. It looks amazing in the sun as the carbon fiber weave and clearcoat creates a 3D shimmering effect. Now I can see how someone can get addicted to this stuff. The hood sat a little low in the back but it was easily fixed with some washers. Otherwise, it fits great. Unfortunately, there are a couple of spots on the passenger side front where the clearcoat lifted off. Not sure if it was damaged in transit (packaging looked undamaged) but since the hood seems structurally sound, I'll see if I can get a discount out of it.

Looks good, and I really like the extra venting you get. Do you have any issues with hood flutter? I've only noticed a little at 90+ with my stock hood.

Thanks! Seems like the vents help with lowering the inlet temp (stock EB hood doesn't have any vents) while I have the A/C on. I did notice a little flutter at around 85 MPH. The hood didn't come with a rubber seal in the rear like the stock hood does so I'll try adding one and report back.

Whatever happened to the factory optional carbon dash that was supposed to appear for the 2018/2019 Mustangs?

"If you have to ask, you can't afford it."

So which one of you zillionaires wants to call and tell us 99%ers the bad news?
99%ā€™er? Usually when you come up in conversation with my fellow 1%ā€™ers I simply refer to you as the ā€˜peasantsā€™.

Vented Hood, two piece splitter, Grill, Canards, Rockers, Radiator cover, Vented Fenders, Decklids, Diffuser, rear wheel splats, Steering wheel all custom painted with pearls and blue candy tinted and then Xpel Clear bra protection. sorry but most of my images are high res but too big for posting.
