So I was driving along I-70 when my '15 GT lost all power and I had to pull over to the shoulder. The engine would fire up and run for a few seconds, and then just die.
This happened on my way back from a long road trip to Colorado and left me stranded two hours away from home, pretty much in the middle of nowhere. I had to have the car towed to the nearest dealership, which was closed due to it being Sunday. I left my keys in their dropbox, took an Uber to the nearest open Hertz and finally made it back home.
The car had been acting strangely for the prior week, sometimes idling at 2k rpm with my foot off the gas. I didn't think too much of it at the time: I was on vacation in Colorado and assumed that the altitude was causing it to act up.
Got a call from the dealer today, and apparently the throttle body needs to be replaced. It kinda sucks that I have to drive two hours each way and take time off from work to get the car back, but I'm not too mad because Ford has taken pretty good care of me by covering the tow and the rental.
