Uh, can't say, but doesn't sound good. I'd definitely turn it off and call for a tow truck.

Yeah seems like something is loose or hitting into something else. You can tell it’s something rotational by the sounds, so check belts and anything you can see. But yeah definitely wouldn’t recommend driving it like that without first identifying the issue.

Man if it was an OHV I'd say you have a bad lifter.. Best of luck.

Does the sound smooth out with revs?

How can you tell ? Also this is a remanufactured motor probably 2k miles on it lol. What does that cost to fix ? Better off building the motor or what ? Thanks

From the sound you posted. I would go back to whomever sold you that motor and see if they will warranty it.

If not, a new shortblock from Ford is a few grand plus a few more for install and misc parts. I would say you're easily looking at 7-10k all in.

Could be a loose flywheel. Did you replace the clutch?

Hmmm I mean it could be a hard part but I’d start with the crank position sensor. That sensor tells the ecu a lot of information in regards to timing, ignition, and fuel …and a few other things.
