I didn’t know my GT Premium could use Waze without going thru Apple Car Play. Could you please describe how you do that? Thanks much!
Yeah just go to the setting on the sync system and turn CarPlay off so it won’t get in the way. After just plug in your phone and go to the apps tab on the bottom then Waze should show up as long as it’s open on your phone and the phone is connected via usb. I usually use the front USB port don’t know if that matters. It’ll look a lot nicer since the screen won’t be covered up by other useless CarPlay stuff it will be bigger and look a lot more like factory navigation. Plus it’s easier to switch to the climate screen and such

Great, I’ll try that today, thanks.

Agree with the above. I was also having issues with CarPlay, even with most recent iOS on iPhone... turned off CarPlay and everything syncs up and functions perfectly. I’m not sure if you also need to make sure your SYNC3 is the most recent version, or if there needs to be some type of CarPlay update for SYNC3 to function without issues with the newest iOS - but I don’t use CP at all.

Thanks, hawkbox. I'll give that a try as it was one thing I didn't try.
Thanks to everyone who responded. hawkbox called it as it was the cable. New cable and all is good.
Thanks again,
Ed
