I just drove into the Plymouth area to spend a few days with the family. What are my chances to catch a glimpse of a 2015 at Flat Rock? Is there anywhere in the greater Detroit area that Ford has one on display?? We are suppose to head home on Tuesday, but I just want to go sit by a fence outside the plant and  Kinda like Christmas Eve, waiting for Santa... Any thoughts/Suggestions? First time poster, long time lurker. Looking to make MY2015 my first Stang!

To be honest, your best chance of seeing one is to keep your eyes peeled around the Dearborn/Allen Park area where most of the Ford buildings are. I usually see them cruising around M-39 and Oakwood. In fact, today I saw a white one off Ford Road near M-39 and then a CO GT near Oakwood and 39.

Plus it's cool to see all of Ford Land. ;) Maybe you should stop by Greenfield Village. It's a pretty cool place plus the Ford test track is right next to it so you stand a good chance to see some pre-production vehicles. I remember seeing a TT Lincoln MKC over there before it was released and I've seen a handful of 2015 Mustangs pass through there. Good luck with the Mustang hunt. :ford:

It's a ways north, but an appearance in Bay City Saturday:

"Then make plans to attend the annual Cool City Car Show on Saturday, July 12, in downtown Bay City. Not only does the show take place in one of the coolest downtowns around, it also is to feature one of the country's newest and coolest rides — the 50th anniversary edition 2015 Ford Mustang."

Speaking of this, does anyone have any knowledge about Flat Rock visitor tours? Would be awesome to go there one day.

It has been my experience that tours are done on an ad-hoc basis (big events like the Woodward Dream cruise weekend, large club gatherings, etc.). Unless something has changed, they do not have regularly scheduled ones there. However, you coming over from Europe might be a big occasion.

Have you see the National Geographic TV show (video is on YouTube) that profiled the plant?

Yeah I have :)

It gave me a headache though, because of the stroboscopic way it was edited. I'm getting too old for this modernistic stuff :headbonk:

Would be great to see the factory irl though. Maybe we can ask if they would accomodate a collective visit by all mustang6g.com forum members.

I asked the dealer when i ordered the LE if they offered the same thing Corvette has: for and extra $1k, you get a tour of the plant, museum admission to see the sinkhole, and you drive the car off the factory floor. sadly, he said "no".

Flat Rock tours aren't like the Roush tour that you can go on. They're mainly for larger groups that pay to do it. Like if you took your Cub Scout troop there or something like that.

If I ever order an S550, I'm gonna ask to at least be the first one to start it up. :headbang:

Ford has a QC route that goes down 5 mile through Plymouth and up Beck road toward Novi. They typically run early mornings and on the weekends. Also anywhere in Dearborn they pass by the dealership daily on Michigan Ave between Outer Dr. and Telegraph.

My wife is from these parts and I feel like I've spent 99% of my vacation life in Michigan, mostly the UP. I'm planning on doing a "drive by" over there, I've been to the village, museum and Rouge Plant tour..... Incredible Stuff!!

I sent a letter to the FREEP about my love for this State, although they slaughtered it, here's a link
