In general, are getting aftermarket camshafts a thing of the past for the Coyote engine? It seems like most people would rather just strap on a blower and call it a day, but maybe that's just me. If this is the case, is it because of the complexity of the Ti-VCT in the new Coyote engine? Just wondering.

A basic blower kit from Vortech is priced well and totally a DIY project.

It's because of how well Ti-VCT works that you don't see many people upgrading them, not because of how complicated it is. Upgrading cams does indeed yield some pretty good gains(as much as 40+rwhp) but they are pretty expensive($1,500) and most of the hot cam sets either restrict or remove Ti-VCT entirely to prevent piston-to-valve contact.

Cant they tune the stock cams alot better now with the ti-vct, I know they cant change lift but im pretty sure they can mess with the duration, which makes me think thats why the tunes for the na engines are getting more horsepower. What's ur thoughts on this?

Last thing I would touch on these cars is heads / cams. you can make great power on the oem setup.

that's halfway to a s/c
