IMO powder coating the OEM calipers is something done by top end customizers. You don't need powder coating to handle the heat generated by daily driving. If you are tracking the car, great, but then you should upgrade to the genuine Brembo calipers and rotors.

As for the G2 paint not lasting well, that's bunk. I've seen many cars with G2 painted calipers and Wesley on this Forum had his plastic dipped and they all look great. The key to a quality paint job is preparation. If you need super perfect powder coating by all means get that done, but many people get the colors they want without that hassle (time, work, expense)

Oh and what is the purpose of labelling Ford OEM rotors as Brembo????

I painted my calipers with Duplicolor High Temp Engine Paint. I used Chevy Orange. Can't tell there's a difference from Comp Orange. I used their clear over it too.

Do you have any close up photos of the calipers painted? Could you explain your process to paint, apply the sticker and clear in more detail? Did you remove caliper from the car? Did you bake the paint or the clear? How many coats of each?

I have seen people paint bike parts such as fenders with spray paint and a clear before along with some form of heat to a point where I would never know it was sprayed with a can.

Never tried myself of course....

i powder coated them aswel. they can be disassembled in a hour or two. the first one takes the longest, once you figure it out it goes fast. my powder coater actually got them done the same day i dropped them off, i couldn't believe it lol. earned my business for life.

I don't have any close-ups at the moment. I can get some the next time I have the wheels off. I removed the wheel, caliper and rotor and then loosely bolted the caliper back into place. Then I masked everything off (after thoroughly cleaning with brake parts cleaner and then wiped them down with alcohol). I proceeded to spray 5-6 coats of paint with about 10 minutes or so between each coat. After letting the last coat of orange set for about 20 minutes I applied the decals and then sprayed about 4 coats of clear with the same time between coats. No heat was used to bake or accelerate the drying paint.

G2 paint worked great for me and even the white seems to stay pretty clean

Every parking lot in the entire country has a riced out pos with painted calipers defacing the landscape. That globbed on color behind your wheels doesn't make you special or improve a damn thing. They would be best left alone

There in no level of drunk that would make me think my calipers need to be a different color.

I didn't realize color matched calipers were rice but thanks for the news flash. Everything is about a a good mix of form/function for me, if I wanted a straight performer and didn't give a shit about looks my choice wouldn't have been a 2016 mustang. go eat a snickers you angry little prick
