First off some of you may have read a post in which I mentioned oil temperature running extremely hot. After speaking with Cobb I found that the oil temperature on the accessport is not pulling data from an actual sensor. It is simply pulling data from other parameters and using a formula to guestimate oil temp.
Nevertheless I built a twin 25 row oil cooler system complete with ducting. At that time I added my own oil temperature gauge BEFORE the coolers. I was in shock how off the in dash and Cobb gauge is. It is off by 35-55F!!!
I verified this with an infrared thermometer as well. Oil temps peaked today at 267F via Cobb, 218F via my gauge. 218 is just getting started as far as oil temps go, this kit will give me room to grow as well.
Coolant temps stayed the same at 225F which I did not expect since it was 15F hotter than last time. A few things that helped was switching to Amsoil Coolant Boost(very similar to Redline water wetter). Theres more flow to radiator now that the oil cooler is no longer mounted up front. The Dusolds Design Grill also opens up a lot more airflow.
Brakes were phenomenal. At this time I have zero issues with braking in every shape and form. The DS1.11 pads have great bite and don't need much pedal pressure to get you to slow down. The ESSEX 2 piece rotors look very good and performed well. There is a little pad transfer but it will clean up, especially when I put the DS2500 pads for the street. This is my 2nd trackday running Torque RT700 fluid in this car and it really is amazing. I suspect I will not have to touch the fluid till next year.
Suspension was fantastic. The rear end felt extremely solid corner after corner. I also messed with the swaybar settings and found the car to be neutral with light under steer off power and power oversteer with throttle. The front swaybar was in the middle and the rear was on full stiff. The next thing is a proper coilover setup.
I'd like to give a few shout outs as well!
Kelly@BMR has been a huge help with suspension tech and really pointed me in right direction.
I bought UPRs dual catch can on a limb not knowing the brand but it was worth every penny. It works very well and I have clean charge pipes as well as my intercooler.
Jeff@Essex Parts has really given good insight about the braking system as a whole. They will be coming out with an amazing track oriented BBK system soon.
I am really impressed with the car and my oil cooler setup really surpassed my expectations.
In the upcoming weeks FFTEC should have their turbo kit ready for me so I can get this power band going the right way.
Ron Davis Radiators has the design of the aluminum radiator done, and they are in the process of building it.
Coilovers is something I really need if not an adjustable set of shocks. I have a company working on something that may be worth the wait.
Last but not least we will start working on a chassis mounted splitter.
Please PM me with any questions on my parts list or price inquires if you are interested!
