Build Week 4/20/15

I've been in Awaiting Shipment since 4/17, but my blend date was 4/20. My COTUS EDD is still showing 5/5, but the car likely hasn't left FRAP yet. I had Jeff check on mine last Tuesday, and he was still showing In Production on his end. (Eight days in production seems a bit excessive to me.) He also reiterated his caveat that COTUS is in the pilot phase and isn't necessarily updated in real time.

The 3/30 week guys (and gals) only began receiving their cars last week. Since we were three weeks after them, I suspect we have at least a couple weeks left before we start seeing them.

As a side note, I heard from a friend who has a friend who works for Ford that they are now shipping many cars by truck due to the railcar shortage. That's hearsay so take it for what it is.

It's definitely possible. Or there weren't enough cars for specific rail lines to warrant a shipment, especially when there are a shortage of railcars. All I know is that both Ford Service and my dealership gave me the same info that my car is on a train already.

I PMd Jeff again over the weekend...still waiting to hear back. I suspect there are plenty of cars on their way to Texas, so it's not likely a problem of insufficient quantity. It doesn't help that there is a BNSF switch track about 300 yards from my back porch, and there's a train of full auto racks there several times a week. (I live about ten miles south of the vehicle railhead, so it's a common sight.)

Perhaps related (or perhaps not), I noticed that my dealer has several units on order since November, December, and January that all show Awaiting Shipment in COTUS as well. This same dealer had around 100 Mustangs in stock just a few weeks ago, so it's possible they ordered a bunch and set the priorities to 99 until they needed them. Or maybe Ford is just really slow at shipping vehicles.

Either way, my COTUS EDD disappeared within the last couple hours, so now I know nothing more (or less) than I did two weeks ago. Fingers crossed that we all get our cars soon. (It's been 7½ weeks since my test drive and I'm jonesing!)

Like a few here, my EDD has disappeared. There have been no updates to my status since my blend date 04/20.

I will check with my dealer tonight to see if he has anything more for me.

Convertible weather isn't very long up here. Don't want to spend it waiting.

My EDD also disappeared. Same for many other EU orders in that build week. This was the first build week that had EU cars for customers (not press) in it so it seems to be a bit special.

I got this info from a German Ford employee about my car:

Hopefully you get it quick! You're a lot closer to the plant than I am so I'm still showing 5/16 as the delivery date

Anybody get good news on the EDD front?

I checked with my dealer a couple of minutes ago. His report still says "Produced" with an EDD of 05/03. That date has come and gone.

He has a call into his Rep about it. No news yet.

It's frustrating when I show up at the dealer and find a new Mustang sitting on it's lot that was built on 04/17 when mine is still at plant and was built 3 days later 04/20. Getting your car on a transport sounds like random luck.

Since I've already negotiated a good price for my 2007, I don't want to use it as my daily driver. Just too much to lose. Anything from a ding in a parking lot to a mechanical failure is out of my pockets.

Cotus showed the delivery date of 5/6/2015 and it was "in transit".

The dates changed back and forth a couple of times, but cotus was accurate in the end after the changes.

Ordered mine on April Fool's Day, built on 4/20 and an expected delivery date of drum roll please...5/13/15 - that's next Wed!

No the dates didn't get added to the statuses until it moved to the next phase...
