I was a little fuzzy on my dates, but basic premise holds true.

Wow you have a ton of patience.

I'm in a similar boat. I've ordered two Raptors that were a lot less hassle.

This 2015 Mustang experience will probably be the last time order a Ford. I'll just hunt dealer lots around the country and drive one home next time. Having no answers or unexplained delays without ETA doesn't sit will with me.

My wife and I have known the guy at the dealership we're going through for years, and we've bought many cars from him in the past. He's a no-nonsense guy, tells us everything straight-up, and always works hard to make sure we get exactly the car we want and that we're happy with every aspect of the deal without any hassle. Maybe it helps that he's a finance guy and not a salesman? When he says he's doing everything he can, I believe him.

At this point, it sounds like it's out of Ford's hands and out of the dealer's hands, and solely rests on the shipping company that trucks the cars from the rail yard to the dealerships. The rail yard services multiple brands for multiple dealers in the Seattle area, so it has a ton of capacity for cars, easily several thousand. The dealer gets several shipments a week, so I don't understand what the hold-up is.

The really frustrating thing is that the near twin to the car I ordered is sitting in the dealer's showroom. It was blind dumb luck, but was the first 2015 I saw in person, and had everything I would have wanted, down to the very color and options. I opted not to get that one because it already had the front bumper drilled for a license plate bracket, so I had them to order me another one and told them to keep the bumper clean. Also, I added the premier trim to my order before it got a VIN once I learned more about it, but every other option is the same. The dealer let people test drive it before they put it in the showroom, so who knows how many miles are on it now and how hard it was test driven. It's gotten a weird dent in the driver's door on one of the hard body lines and the door doesn't quite close properly since it's been sitting in the show room as well. Nevertheless, every time I stop by, there it is, staring me in the face.

That's what compels me to order cars instead of buy off the lot. Making sure I get exactly what I want in the condition I want; it's worth the wait to me. I've ordered custom electric guitars from small builders before that have taken 14 months to complete, so this is a relatively short wait. It's just annoying that it's so close with a seemingly simple final step to get it here.

Something doesn't add up there. Once the car boards the train its the dealer's and they own it on paper. (This is why the cars can end up on the dealers website as soon as it is officially shipped.) Once on the train everyone is at the mercy of the shipping company, but once it leaves the train it's now on a local transport company to get to the dealer. In my case it was Brother's Auto transport (http://brothersautotransport.com) and my dealer called them and gave them the model and VIN and had it expedited. It never hit a carrier, it was flat-bedded by itself to the dealer in hours, not days.
Obviously, I don't know if its the same on the west coast as the east, but I do know that in my case the dealer had the necessary pull with the shipper to get me car to me sooner than the others on the train.

Looks like my dealer will be trading one of their cars for the same one I ordered that's sitting on a dealer lot 350 miles away. The one I ordered is still stuck at the plant and I'm not letting my private cash offer expire.

Im about to do the same, but I thought you could lock the offer in? Especially considering the circumstances.

No one has my car, but Ive found a couple in the state that are close enough.

They're fighting with ford to try to extend it but it's a private offer so usually they can't. I'm trying to just get them to ship the other one in and I could have it this week.

Has anyone with premium trim seats received their cars from this build week?
I have the premier trim seats and my car showed up early on 4/17. I feel for you guys who are still waiting. Hang in there!
