hey guys, would anyone recommend jumping straight to a v8? the last car I drove was a v6 with 220 HP. I cancelled my v6 and thinking of getting a v8 off the lot from a nearby dealer. I've had it waiting. lol

My opinion is that as long as you respect the machine you'll be alright. I went from a Jeep to a GT and from decades of riding motorcycles I've learned that as soon as you don't respect it, you pay.
The fact that you're aware enough of the change to ask the question shows that you're on the right path.

Thanks DrBrian,
i feel that it may be too much of a car for me and things may go wrong in seconds with a 435 ponies running for you, which is why am seeking advice. I am 28 years old and haven't driven a car in 2.5 years, i just think it will be a lot different getting back on the road jumping with a GT, but you're right, gotta respect power.

Honestly my 99 GMC Sierra with 285HP was harder to drive power wise than my 5.0. No traction control, no drive by wire, no weight in the rear. It also had a throttle body that would stick in the closed position then snap open causing quite shock if you just thought it had a heavy gas pedal. My '14 Sierra has 375HP on E-85 but will all the changes is very tame when you hit the gas. My point is newer cars are easier to drive even with way more HP.

The GT with all the traction control and the reduced throttle mapping in Normal mode isn't any harder to drive than a 140HP econobox for the first 3/4 of the gas pedal.

Congrats on the cars! I'm glad to see that more of them are getting delivered.

I don't think I ever posted a post PDI picture of the rocket...

I think my daughter's pink car seat really ties the whole car together.

She's home! Pick up went well. Dealer through in a free oil change and next year's inspection for free and had the tank filled up. Interior and exterior looked great, no isues worth mentioning. I put about 50 miles on her tonight. This car is awesome and definitely worth the wait. For everyone still waiting, hang in there.:ford:
