I've just decided that I'm not getting the car if it comes after my loan times out. I'll live off my beater for a year or something. Maybe I'll wait until 2017. Today was my tipping point for sure.
Dude... you literally just placed your order last month. Expected wait time is usually 8-12 weeks.

See previous message. It's not about being unwilling to wait. I think this car is the best-looking, best-performing car for under $40K. However, I'm unwilling to jump through the hoops for loan and insurance again. Being 22, I got rather perturbed having to prove my credit score isn't a fluke, and I'm not an idiot who's going to drive this into the nearest cement wall.

I'm 22 too. Get a co-signer if you can. It makes things much easier.

That's a good suggestion, but I don't want to tie anyone else to my loan. If I can't pay it, then I messed up. I shouldn't get a bailout.

If I can't pay it, I'll sell it. The co-signer doesn't need to be considered a bailout.

In regards to those loans, if interest rates start to go up (which they have a little since I filed my original loan), those of us might not get the same rate we originally were intending when we have to redo it again. We're not talking drastic changes, but even a small change still sucks. I have had to re-file my loan twice as the previous two have expired while waiting for me to get this car and have been able to keep it to the original percentage, but if it is true about the hold on our cars it is now looking like I may have to do it a third time. As much as I want this car, i'm not sure I want to do that again, and am now looking at other options. It baffles me that some cars make it through and others would be on hold.

My dealer got some more details from their regional rep. This may cause a panic attack for some - but here it is:

"There are a few holds out on Mustangs that I believe this vehicle is a part of:

  • All mustangs built with 5.0L Automatic & Manual transmissions
  • Supplier issue with seat belts
  • Supplier issue with carbon canister
  • Mustangs with V8 engines on hold due to supplier issue

I’m told most of the holds have to do with the seat belts. Once the problem it fixed, we will have a new ETA and it will go off hold and continue to be sent to you. "

Almost forgot the worst part......

"All of the cars that have been sent to dealers, before the HOLD will have Recalls on them, so they will get fixed. This is the latest info I have."

Thanks, finally some actual information, until the story changes to something else tomorrow :)
