I am west of Fort Worth, I am not going through McDavid. I am using Autonation, I am refraining to pass judgement until after I take delivery.

What happened with McDavid?

I live in Nashville. Been here just under 3 years. Grew up in the suburbs of Ft worth all my life. I still visit regularly....in fact I'll be out there in about a week and a half.

Point of all this is...I used to deal with Five Star Ford in north Richland hills. I've been buying cars from them since they were originally located in the corner of a shopping center parking lot off precinct line. Anyway, I talked to my guy out there and told him what was going on, and that I've been trying to find another car local here in Nashville since the car I ordered is taking so long. I've not been able to find much here, but he found 8 cars optioned the way I want within 300 miles of Ft Worth. If I don't have some very good news from my dealer here soon, I'm going to buy a car in TX while I'm there and drive it back.

apologize for the long post but this was my experience with my dealer

Got in touch with the Internet sales guy through email and he gave me a rough estimate of around 28500 out of door, walked into the dealership on a late evening, checked out the car, liked it and went inside to do the numbers. There was totally no sync between the internet sales rep and this guy and was out by almost $1000 making it $29500. I already had a pre approved loan from my bank for a very good APR so was willing to finance through them. The sales rep was so pushing to do the credit app and get it financed through ford credit and was saying that the Ford Retail Customer Cash rebate of $500 is applicable only if the car is financed through them and started adding the dealer addons like the window tint and nitrogen. I clearly showed him and the sales manager the email communication which I had with the internet sales rep, then they started blaming him that he dosen't have the correct info. They told that they will be matching up the 28500 only if I financed through ford and this deal is valid only for tonight, I was so pissed off and left saying that I wanted to checkout the car in proper sunlight and then decide.

Next day, I contacted the internet sales guy and told him what I went through, he promised the price of $26500 + TTL and then if I am eligible with the student discount he will take 500 of to do $26000 + TTL and no dealer add ons. I walked in again and now this time I went directly to the internet sales guy and asked him to start the process with the price we agreed upon. He started it and handed it over the actual sales guy I was dealing with the previous evening stating he knows more about the paper work and stuff and will take care. That is when I saw the price of $26000 and a window tint+nitrogen addon, I was again pissed off and just didn't want to create a scene for 400$ and agreed on the deal for $26400 + TTL and signed. I just refreshed my mind and got excited that i am getting my dream ride and was on cloud 9, till the sales rep came back from the sales manager with the price sheet on which I signed the deal stating that he needs to do the credit app to make me finance thorugh ford in order to get the $500 Ford retail customer rebate off. I lost it and shouted at him that it was not at all related to ford financing and ford is giving away that to customers irrespective of where they finance from and showed him about it on the ford incentives website. Then he said that he cannot proceed without that, I was are you crazy and lost your mind evn after accepting and signing the deal now you are trying to squeeze out from the customer, I am not going to give my business to you who dont have any business ethics and started coming out to my car, i.e., when he came running and agreed upon to that deal on whatever I signed on. It was a frustrating experience, you know when you save up for such a long time and wait for the right time to get your new dream machine is spoiled by these brats.

It didn't stop from there, I actually wanted to put 5grand down and finance the remaining so that I can gave lower monthly payments, I said the same to the sales guy and he said he will take care. while taking in the purchase agreement, It doesn't show my downpayment that I was willing to make it at the dealership. The finance manager who was helping me out with the paperwork said I need to make the downpayment at the bank and It was not making sense to me, but being my 1st new car purchase in the USA, I thought its this way and left the showroom after clicking on few pics of my new ride. When I went to the bank with the purchase agreement and told them I will do a downpayment, and take loan on the remaining, they were like u should have made it at the dealership, we give the loan on the entire balance due on the purchase agreement. I was like :headbonk::doh::doh: and finally ended up taking loan on the entire OTD price with higher payments, but anyhow EOD it's gonna be the same.

I'm hoping atleast I will have a wonderful delivery tomorrow.

What a nightmare! I would refuse delivery and go somewhere else. If you haven't taken delivery, you can still back out.

Hi Brendan, thanks for the info, can you share the spreadsheet, it would greatly help.

Guys it was super quick, I made a deal with the dealer, will pick it up tomorrow. Super excited! The slowest 24 hrs has started and I'm sure will be having a sleepless night today pouring over all the threads on this forum. This is my 1st new car purchase in the United States, anything I should watch out for during the paper work and while taking the delivery?
I made it while at work, I have a printed copy but the saved copy is on my work computer. I'll try to post it when I go to work today. It's nothing impressive, just went over several areas that I wanted to make sure I didn't forget to look at. And it's in a very random order. I added to it while I was thinking of things.

Still waiting on mine to even get to the dealer. It's been sitting in the rail yard to get on a truck since Thursday.

I just spoke with someone in VOPC. And was told the estimated release date for my car is 11/16, but that is subject to change.
I just found out my car is sitting about 2.5 hours away in a holding area due to a seat belt issue. Ford Rep is not giving my Dealer and ETA, very frustrating!
Mine has been three hours away for a week now. Not sure when it's coming anymore.
Guys, if an issue has been found, the vehicles will not be delivered until they have been repaired by the plant. I know this affects your timing expectations, but they’ll be repaired before they arrive.

I wonder if I'm part of this too?
May not be, but you can ask your dealer, 350Mike.

My dealer said it should arrive today or tomorrow. Perfect for my Friday/Saturday pick up.:eyebulge:
It’s still showing at the rail yard, Digope. You may want to ask as well.

I am west of Fort Worth, I am not going through McDavid. I am using Autonation, I am refraining to pass judgement until after I take delivery.

What happened with McDavid?

That would be of great help. Thanks Brendan

Hope this works, I saved it as a pdf to make it easier. Again, I made this really quick for myself to remember to check certain things. Towards the bottom, for the wheels, I abbreviated df, driver front, pr, passenger rear..etc. Hope it helps

I just found out that my GT Premium with PP built on 9/29, which had an ETA of today (10/14), has been changed to a new ETA of 11/16.

If yours was built during this week, you may be in for a long wait.

I just called my dealership and my car is still sitting at the rail yard about 40 miles away :frusty:

I'm going out of town on Friday and I dread the thought of my car sitting at the dealership until I get back. :(

I'm guessing if our cars have already made it to the final rail stop, they are not affected by this?

The dealer just called. His truck arrived from the rail yard and my "hot-listed" Mustang was not on it. Ugh. It's been in Benicia since last Thursday! Here's hoping it shows up tomorrow...

My car was built 9/29, it was shipped, but sent back to the factory. I had an EDD of 10/14-20, but now it's unknown.
