Finally a local outside shooting club is opening in my area. 500 feet max, but I'm just happy that its outdoors and over 100 feet. I've been wanting to learn the mechanics of how to shoot long range for a long time, with or without a scope.
I'm thinking 308 since it's a available round normally, I may change caliber.

So I'm in the market for a rifle to cover these check blocks.
Semi automatic
Prefer magazine load
Want it to look like a hunting rifle, a handsome piece of equipment
Non military looking.
Really nice gun to learn my new hobby and pass down to grandchild
I've selected the Browning in Walnut with aluminum receiver.
Is my choice make since, yes I know bolts are more accurate.

There's, like, no firearms or ammo available right now.

Are you a current firearm owner? Or will this be your first gat?

I got the usual stuff, looking for a hunting rifle I can learn long range technic as a hobby I guess. Then pass down to grandkid. Brother suggested 7 mm bolt with good scope. Maybe ?

Realize the gun situation, and ammo. I have a real nice scoped 10/22 that I'm gonna use in the meantime. Just waiting for weather to break and range to get completed
