Just discovered this damage on my front bumper. Does anyone know if I can get this repaired by the dealer as a defect? Will they repair it under the bumper to bumper warranty? I have not hit anything nor has any one hit my car. I have no idea how these clips broke off. :(

So sad to see that. I think you should take it to the dealer to see what they would say.

I had same exact problem. Take it in. They will most certainly fix it. However they will actually replace the entire front bumper. Make it clear you did not hit anything otherwise they will haggle you for money. This is a common problem with the s550 mustangs. My dealer has had this come in a lot.

You did ? did you take it to the dealer?
Unfortunately, damn stealership, I spun out in a turn and hit a curb at very low speed, it threw the toe off in the rear, fucked both right side wheel bearings and broke just the same way as OP.

Dealer wanted 1200 for the bumper, 900 for 2 wheel bearings and 300 for the alignment...

Got the bumper from a forum member as a takeoff, 180 for parts and ~200 for labor on the bearings and paid the damn stealership for the alignment so I could drive the damn thing.

The biggest worry for me going forward was how fast the damn thing got out of line, my 2012 v6 with 0 suspension work and the same wheels/tires took the same corner faster with no drama.

Sorry to read that bro. I glad you and your ride are ok.

Same thing happened to me. I cant make out if the tabs broke or the clips attached to the body. How did you get it fixed?

So I just installed my Demon eye LED's to my car last night with a friend and i'm having an issue with the clips not wanting to lock into place... Any suggestions on getting proper fitment? i was thinking maybe wrapping it in electrical tape to make sure there is still a gap because currently its the plastic bumper directly on the metal fender rubbing. Basically gonna try tonight after work to use Electrical tape around the clip as a spacer to keep the bumper/fender alignment flush like it is on the driver side.

Be careful as these bumper clips are fragile. I just took my 15 to the dealer yesterday and they are giving me a hard time due to the Vossen wheels and Steeda Springs. If you look in the top image both the clip and the hole that the dreaded 7mm bolt are missing. I have heard this over and over from multiple people. Depending on what the dealer say then I will either have the repair it or screw it and get a Roush front fascia.

Follow up to my broken clips. Stealership is saying that my Vossen VFS1
wheels and bigger tires are the cause. I told them they are full of bull.
Service Manager said he will not authorize warranty replacement.

I had the exact same issue of bumper popping out at the passenger side where it meets the fender. There was no impact of any sort, and it popped out on it own. Took it to the dealership, the SA was pretty sure it would be covered under warranty. He took the pictures by putting the car on a lift to make sure there was no curb / driveway damage, ford approved it and they were able to fix it. However they didn't get me a new bumper but rather somehow fixed the clips probably using plastic welding of some it.

I was concerned over the fix but the fitting was flush and was assured if I had any issue it will be taken care of.

Well I actually took this thread and showed it to the service manager. Still a
no go. They said that my Steeda Progressive Springs and larger Nitto tires
caused this and therefore it is not covered under the warranty. Fine, I
purchased a Roush front fascia and will swap it out. The stealership wanted
$2500 to replace my stock fascia. I will use the 50th Anniversary Grill and
caged mustang as a wall ornament in my garage or man cave.

I am glad they were able to repair yours. They had no clue how to fix mine
even when I suggested plastic welding/adhesives. Maybe I will try on my
own.

Unless its some personal thing between customer and manager, I always suspect this comes from the dealer or manager being on Ford's **** list for some reason and so they are reluctant to do anything that requires Ford's okay. That stuff is not cut and dry, at least not in the GM world. Some dealers have a good reputation with GM and get most things they ask for. Another down the block that screws up a lot has everything they do under a microscope.
