I don't think so... I'm pretty sure shipping weight is supposed to be the actual weight of the car being shipped. I think the freight services require a fairly accurate weight here.

And yeah, the weight wasn't published when the order was placed, but it sure was available by the time the car had a VIN. I'm pretty sure RisingForce was posting that image because it was the final dealer invoice, not a receipt from when the order was first placed. Hence why it had a VIN (and a shipping weight).

They wouldn't be weighing it for the purpose of proving consumer specs, it would be for shipping purposes.

The car is not filled with all necessary fluids when it's shipped from the factory, so if it's weighed at any point before leaving the dealer, you will not be measuring the curb weight. Not sure what the confusion is.
That's fine if you want YOUR car moved off the truck with absolutely no fluids in it... lol, I can reassure you it will have all necessary fluids in it and a little bit of gas and that's it... I've done plenty of transportation and even on an airplane transport.... it will have fluids in it

As said above, the only fluid that is not topped off, is the fuel, which dealer tops that off before delivery.

Speaking of broken COTUSes, my order was placed on 10/18 but isn't showing up in Cotus yet -- I'm not talking about a missing VIN, I mean I enter my order number and dealer number and it says there's no such car. I don't know what to make of that.

They have to get these cars of rails/18 wheelers somehow.... Pretty sure these cars have fluids.

Just learned my car is STILL camped out in South Carolina. I could have driven there and back 4 times myself to get her since I found out.

I'm trying to figure out if the ambitious paperwork caused the hold or if they're unrelated. I'll keep you all posted so no one makes the same mistake I made apparently.

Actually, never mind; found out the order was in the system under a different order number than the one printed on my order sheet.
