Brake Pads

[Budwise]

What pads are you guys running with the 6 pot calipers for track days? I've used Hawk in the past but am considering Carbotech or Stoptech for my GT PP.

I would stick with the stock pads. They stop great and they are built for the car. I have done 5 track days with no fade and the rotors and pads are holding up great.

Seems like I wont really have a choice. Carbotech, Hawk, StopTech, all say they dont have a pad for the 2015 GT PP yet. Hawk has one that will work but doesnt cover the surface as much so I'd have to have dedicated track rotors as well.

Anyone know the OEM part numbers so I can at least get an extra set?

bullshit. you're either trusting the internet, or talking to the wrong people. i have a CT AX6 set f/r on my GT PP, they made 'em for me back in december. call puskar jr @ CT and he'll get you the right pads in any variety (AX6, XP8, XP10, etc).

COTA destroys pads and rotors.

That is from an S2000. I'm trying to imagine what it will do to a 450hp vehicle that weighs 3600lbs.

Yea, all the COTA high speed straights end in hairpin turns. My first track outing in this car will be MSR Cresson which isnt too bad since its a rather slow speed track with only one really hard braking zone at the entrance to Rattlesnake.

I called again and talked to Puskar Jr, which turns out IS Mike. He said again that they dont have anything as far as he knows but he would ask Dan to see if there's been any updates.

Just so everyone knows the parts he used were the GT500 parts, part number CTGT500-AX6. That should also work with CTGT500-XP8 etc too but apparently Carbotech does not have a rear pad that fits yet.

I have a set of Ferodo DS2500's that are arriving tomorrow as well so I'll post up my findings.
