So I did the rear calipers recently and I noticed one of the banjo bolts is leaking slowly on one side (I'm presuming it's from the flat piece where the copper washer goes is currently super rusty and yucky. I ordered a new set (assortment of sizes) copper washers off Amazon some random 325 piece assortment to hopefully get the correct size. But I figure I should get clean brake lines. I came across SR performance rear replacement brake lines.in American muscle for around 6-8$ heavily discounted I can get both sides shipped for under 30$. With 1/3 of that being shipping. Worth grabbin

Don’t mean to be a smart ass, but you are talking about brakes, right?

I'm confused, I didn't misspell brake as break anywhere? But I mean brake Lines. If you click the link it takes you to the brake lines I'm referring to. Just wondering if they are junk or worth buying since they are discounted nicely and exactly what I need.

I'm pretty sure sr is a cheapy brand. Personally I wouldn't buy anything from American muscle. They rebrand Chinese crap and mark the prices up. You could probably find sr lines even cheaper somewhere else online for half the price if you really have a low budget.

Everywhere else is 40+ dollars. Sr is 6$. I don't think I can beat that price. Or should I just take sandpaper to the oem brake lines switch are super rusty and corroded and are not sealing anymore? I ordered the sr just Incase so it gets here in time but I can always cancel the order. Are they really that junk? I don't want anything that will fail or is far worse than oem

Edit, nvm American muscle cancelled the order and won't accept orders. Guess I'm using sandpaper on the oem lines and hoping it seals. I'll end up grinding off all the spiral lines that create the seal. I just want the damn breaks to seal so I don't have to keep bleeding them.

Those SR lines are regular replacement rubber lines; probably from the same Chinese factory as every other cheap aftermarket rubber brake line. Just buy some from RockAuto. $40 sounds like a lot compared to $6, but brakes are pretty important in a 435+hp car.

I'm going to just sand the surfaces shiny on the originals. I don't have time to wait for the rock auto ones. Their shipping takes 2-3 weeks for me whenever I order. It's leaking RN. It needs a quicker fix. I'm going to get to it this weekend. Undo the banjo. Sand with 120 grit and toss on new copper washers (hopefully the kit i ordered has a size close enough because I can't for the life of me find out what size they are. The closest thing said is 10mm but is that 10mm OD or an M10

Well, what I was trying to lead you to is that brakes are really important. If you want to be cheap do it on upholstery or floor mats, not brakes. Even if you don't care about your own life, please try to think about the child in the car seat and the mother that you may kill with your "thriftyness". No, I mean being CHEAP.

Think about it.

I get the perspective but it's rear brake lines made from edpm rubber. It's all the same shit made in the same Chinese factory just rebranded. Same way snap on tools can be found on Amazon for 1/10 of the price and branded under a different company but the same exact tool. Is it also being cheap to buy crush washers off Amazon or should I pay motor craft 50$ vs 1$ on Amazon for the same exact quality item? Hell you can't even know for sure what the crush washer size is because Ford won't tell you. It's a complete guess as to the OD, and thickness which could be 1, 1.2,1.5,2 or more. Impossible to tell using an old already crushed one which will be crushed thinner. And wider. There's being cheap and then there's buying a unbranded rubber hose that could be fuel line and not high pressure and tested for safety, edpm rubber. One will burst one won't. Big brands like American muscle wouldn't sell it if it's was unsafe because it's a house brand and they would be sued into oblivion if their brake lines were failing. Also it's literally identical in price to rock auto. It's just on clearance because they are moving stock. Discounts don't mean it's low quality it just means they are moving stock. I'm not putting ANYONES life in danger. I'm also NOT buying brake lines. I'm sanding the OEM lines (which honestly, the OEM lines are known to fail which technically means they are more likely to put people at risk than budget friendly replacement options.....

Hey FreeSpirit, i just reread my posts here and feel an apolgy is in order. Can’t say for sure why I became such a prick over banjo bolt washers. Must have had a fart cross ways then.

Please accept my apology and let us know how this turned out for you.
