I felt the same way about the Brembos as the OP until I got used to them. Now they feel fine. Until I drive the F250 or YJ for a while then they feel grabby. Untill I drive the S550 for a while, then they feel fine. Until I drive... ;)

I love my standard brakes with gloc 18s in them. We run time attack and have absolutely no reason to change them out at this time, and I can get away with more wheel choices. I believe the brembos are a little over rated and not needed. Pad choice is what makes the brembos feel "better" on stock cars.

It felt exactly as it should have. Maybe you forgot to change the brake booster which is required when upgrading to PP brakes from BASE on a GT. :frusty:

Fluid Pressure is force per area.
Given piston area you can calculate both force and volume of fluid per distance of piston displacement.
If you change the total area of piston (ie upgrade from base to PP brake calipers with different pistons), the booster or master cylinder HAS to change...

Try it again and pick up the booster from White Bear Lake and you will thank us...
Is the GTPP booster different from the GT (manual)? I'm assuming the OP has a manual...

This sounds like the only difference is in auto cars.

I love the feel of the brembos. Very easy to modulate, unlike my 16 F150 on & off switch brakes.

You can probably get away with the 4 pots on a track day, the earlier cars seem to do all right with similar brakes. I just wouldn't prefer the 4 over the 6 solely for subjective take on the pedal feel. There are more pros than cons performance wise.

We will have to put the 4 vs 6 debate to test sometime this spring when I'm down in TX tearing it up. How about TWS:D:D:D:D?

Does it do ok in the rain? Obviously no 200 wear tires is gonna be like an all season lol but I mean for a 200 wear tires is it ok in the rain. I was looking at going RE11

The re71r is a step up over the re11.

It's ok in the rain. As long as you don't drive like an ass lol

March 24-26:D

It's the Track Guys event. I'm debating staying in CS versus camping at the track with the Chicane23 guys. I have a feeling it will be more fun to "camp".

RE71r's are very nice, I tried to get a set but at the time none were available in the timeframe I needed them. I'm running NT05's for my daily and possibly a few events until I get my actual daily drive wheels back from loan. Then these 19x10 @ 19x11 are getting proper rubber!

This man is correct. A lot of the "feel" described in this thread is more the pad than the caliper. With the right pad, brake lines, fluid, and master cylinder, you can achieve any feel you wish.

What I have seen with some of my Time Trial friends is the Brembos warping from heat cycles. Most go Stoptech at that point, which seems to resist this better for whatever reason. But the Brembos they give you on various sports cars certainly aren't magic, and I wouldn't go out of my way to get them. Better options exist, should you be at the point of spending money.
