So I ended up selling some brembos I had bought for my base cause I liked the feel of the base calipers instead. Lol

I had stock brembos with rubber lines and the bite was almost instantly with zero resolution. Then for shits I put the steel braided lines I had on and it was even worse.

So then I had an idea. I took my base calipers and used the steel lines and it's fuckin perfect. Can't wait to try them out next season.

I'm not basing just sharing my experience or preference. I need to see about upgrading pad material for the base brakes and see if that might have been a factor on the brembos

Installer error or an issue with the brakes.

I put the brembos on my EB PP. The oem 4 pots were pure trash.
You're crazy. The bremos have no pedal feel. There is no resolution

I'm assuming you mean modulation...

The GT PP brembos have excellent modulation. The issue with them on the street is the initial bite is high on the pads, so you need to work on your modulation skills, but when you do, they're incredible brakes even with stock pads.

This doesn't mean that YOU didn't prefer your 4 piston base brakes, that's fine too. Whatever works for you. Just don't fool yourself into thinking that the brembos are inferior.

Agreed 100%. The stock pads are ridiculous. I swapped in Power Stop Z23s, and while they don't stop as hard, initial bite is lower, and there's MUCH more pedal feel. These aren't the best pads, but my car is a DD, and I was tired of the dusting on the wheels. If/when I do a HPDE, it'll take me 15 minutes to swap in a set of G-Loc pads for the track.

Yeah, sounds like a pad material issue.

Yeah, sounds like a pad material issue.
Seems like the new trend for OEM pads is going more soft and sticky type vs hard and grinding type.
I remember my RX-8 rotors would visibly wear down because the pads were hard and grinding down the metal.

I think it's just a matter of getting used to them. The few people I've let drive my car when I had the stock pads about put me through the windshield because they were not used to the feel. Since the stock pads I've had three other compounds - R10, R12 and the GS1. The 10 and 12 had much more bite than stock but the GS1 seem to be about the same or even less.

It's all in the material.

Maybe it is a matter of getting use to them. Tbh it's something I'm biased against getting use to. Reason being is I drive this car to the autox course and soon to HPDE. I also do lots of hill country cruises out on the three sisters. I'll probably just upgrade these pads and maybe go to a slotted rotor.

Another thing is the added weight of the larger rotor is just another thing I don't care for onow the brembos. For now I'll just keep my brembos in the closet if the day ever comes that I want to switch

A couple of hpde's and I bet they will be back on with an even more aggressive pad. :)

The calipers on the brembos are lighter than the 4 pots.

There is a 5lb difference per side disc wise. With using a Essex AP 2 piece disc you'll save over 10lbs over the 4 pots.

They are the best bang for your buck bbk wise on this car

It felt exactly as it should have. Maybe you forgot to change the brake booster which is required when upgrading to PP brakes from BASE on a GT. :frusty:

Fluid Pressure is force per area.
Given piston area you can calculate both force and volume of fluid per distance of piston displacement.
If you change the total area of piston (ie upgrade from base to PP brake calipers with different pistons), the booster or master cylinder HAS to change...

Try it again and pick up the booster from White Bear Lake and you will thank us...
