I know what "sounds good" is subjective, looking for input though. Looking at the Roush AB. Good price and the ones I've heard do sound good. Just afraid when I replace the resonator that it'll be too loud. It's not a race car.
However the Borla S-Type that I heard sounded sweet also, more money too. I still can't get over how pricey just an AB exhaust is nowadays. I just swapped mufflers (couple hundred bucks) on fox bodies and good to go. Oh well
Anyone that has these 2 axle back systems care to comment?
Thanks

I have the Roush AB. I had it with the factory resonator in place and it was nice. Great sound but I wanted louder.

I replaced the resonator with the Ford Racing xpipe. It is LOUD, especially when you romp on the gas upto redline, WOW. You can hear it a couple miles away at redline.

If you don't want it loud, loud stick with the Roush AB and factory resonator.

Same set up here. I have the roush mufflers on and the x-pipe is in the garage awaiting install. The mufflers are decently loud but I'm not fond of the way it sounds as you pull higher in the RPM's particularly near redline. I think the X-pipe will remedy that. On the plus side there is zero drone so far with just the mufflers.

Thanks guys! I guess I'm just looking for a little reassurance that I'm making the right choice and not just going for the cheaper option. I'm cool with loud as long as it's not obnoxious and has some ass to back it up. All noise and no go is lame IMO.
Know what I mean?

OP I'm in the exact same boat. I can't choose between the s type or the roush + x pipe. They both sound great, but the total roush setup is about $400 less

Same here I have the Roush with the factory resonator and i think the sound is amazing. It is a little loud for me though. The car and the exhaust got lot of compliments on the road.

Yep. The 5.0 has the ass to backup the sound.

Cheaper and still high quality. Best of both worlds.

I have the Roush with a h pipe and love it!!! Only thing I might change to would be the ataks. Won't do it until I get some catted long tubes, may be to loud then and have to change. But doubt I will tho

I have the full s-type exhaust and I love the sound. It is a little louder than I had expected, but it sounds so sweet. With that said, its not loud enough to set off car alarms in the parking garage at work (a good thing) under cold starts and normal driving. I highly recommend the Bora system.

Yea, definitely. All the videos out there don't quite do it justice.

I have to agree..... Borla's "S-Type".... from the cats back, sounds remarkable....

Hey H6G, how are they on the loud scale? I'm leaning towards the S Types, just dont want to go deaf or have my neighbors spaz.

Just to clarify, there are 0 performance gains from a cat back or axle back. The biggest performance difference will be from weight savings. A big reason why I didn't drop $1k+ on a CB.
