Hey all,

Recently got the Borla S-Type 3" Cat-back system (Thanks Jay @ Hypermotive for excellent hookup on price and delivery!). Couldn't be happier with the sound, it's absolutely perfect and what I was looking for. However, I've had a hell of a time with getting the muffler tip on the driver side to align centered. It just want to lay a bit lower than the passenger side.

I've ensured all parts are fitted snug and all the way in, tried to rotate the mid-pipe a little bit, and even loosened up everything then removed and re-installed the driver-side mid-pipe and muffler with the same result. I'm at a loss as it seems no matter how high I try to place it and tighten it down, it still just wants to hang a bit lower.

Any tips or suggestions?

Sorry about the crappy pics, they were taken with bad lighting. I'll try to get better ones in the morning.

I'll also try to get a sound clip put together soon to add to the collection because they really do sound amazing :headbang:

Try loosening everything from the resonator to the axle back and then adjust and tighten.

I tried that out today with no luck. I'll probably just try it again tomorrow in case I messed that up somehow.

Haven't done my mustang yet but cat backs I've done before I've had to bend the tabs welded to the pipe so when slide into rubber hanger would cause it to sit different. This stuff is made by people and then shipped so it's understandable that they all can't be perfect. I know this stuff is a lot of money but don't be worried to use a little brute force to make it fit.

I had the same problem, only with the passenger side.
I ended up loosening everything, have someone hold the muffler exactly where it should be, and then tightened everything up again front to back.
Worked like a charm, but no way could I have done it by myself.

UPDATE: What ended up working was manually bending the hanger until it was centered. Thought that might be the case but just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something else. Thanks for the help!
