Just a quick question. Does the S550 have the same bolt pattern as the S197? I was thinking about running some GT500 wheels.

Yes, 114.3 x 5, but it also has larger studs. I believe they are 14mm x 1.5

Exactly what Braden said

Learned the hard way on a cold October evening trying to put on my rims from my last mustang.

Rims fit, offset worked, but lug nuts didht.

Luckily I had my expedition lugs handy.

So, the answer is no...S197 will not bolt right on due to larger lug size. Thanks for the info!

Yeah, not sure I want to mess with changing out lugs...rather do the direct fit.

You can keep the stock studs in. I highly recommend an aftermarket forged lug nut. Thats what I changed mine out for. The brand is Monster and they make a pretty cool looking lug that is forged so it's very strong and light.

Here is a picture:

Hope this helps.

So instead of changing lug nuts you would rather buy new wheels?

No, the rims will fit, you will just need different lug nuts. Keep the studs that are in the car.

So, wait a minute...maybe I'm confused. The S197 wheels do fit, so it's not the diameter of the lugs but the thread pitch?

The studs fit, you just need new lugs to fit with the aftermarket wheel. The stock lugs are very wide and might not fit inside where the stud goes through the wheel.
