So I want to do some bolt ons to my 17 CS GT, specifically a res delete cat back exhaust, cold air intake, and I was thinking about a bigger throttle body (90mm ?), and either the cobra or an aftermarket intake manifold. I have to assume that a tune will absolutely be required, but everything I read says that a tune voids warranty. Is there any point in doing ANY of these bolt-ons WITHOUT a tune ?

Also, on the subject of a cold air intake, I have a functional ram air hood on my car from Cervini Customs. I drilled out the block plate in the grille in front of the air intake, and installed a K&N OEM air filter in the stock air box. Intake air temps are now obviously radically different. Even with the ram air hood, given that the CAI live UNDER the hood, will a CAI have any benefit ?

Thanks,

Tim

Exhaust is almost entirely for sound until you do headers. Don’t waste your time with a bigger throttle body there’s minimal gains there. Your stock cold air flows fine with the k&n drop in filter for now. Intake manifold makes some nice power, look at the 18 manifolds for best bang for your buck. But you’ll need a tune for that and most any cai that makes a difference (jlt or pmas to name some rested ones I’ve seen). A tune is definitely money well spent with any of the trusted names. I went with Lund and the service was excellent. But if you’re worried about warranty then it’s a grey area depending on your dealership and the warranty claim.

I started with a resonator delete and some suspension parts. Check out the BMR cb005 for an initial mod. It stiffens up the mushy feeling in the rear IRS and I had zero noise or harshness with it.
