So I replaced the original battery in my 2019 yesterday with a Deka. I am all about buying made in the USA and the Deka batteries are one of the few items still made here. I did the BMS reset by flashing high beams 5 times and depressing brake 3 times. I watched the battery light and it did nothing. I was sitting in the car with the door open. As soon as I shut the door the battery light flashed. I tried it again with the door shut, nothing until I opened the door , then the battery light flashed. I opened and closed the door several times without doing the reset and it never flashed. Is it normal to have to cycle the door to get it to reset? First time I've done it and want to make sure it actually reset.

Just double checking you did these steps....

Manual Reset Procedure (Most Ford Vehicles)
  1. Access Mode: Sit in the driver's seat and turn the ignition key to the On position (or press the push-to-start button twice without touching the brake pedal).
  2. Flash High Beams: Within 10 seconds, pull the high-beam stalk towards you and release 5 times.
    • Press Brake Pedal: Press the brake pedal down and release 3 times.
    • Confirm Reset: Watch the instrument cluster, specifically the battery icon. It should flash 3 times (or turn off and back on) to signal a successful reset.
    • Turn Off: Turn the vehicle ignition off.

Yes, with the exception of pushing the start button twice. Once puts you in acc. mode, I thought. The battery light would never flash until it saw the door switch change state, then it would flash 4 times.

You can do the reset procedure as many times as you like. If in doubt, do it again.

Just went out and repeated what I was doing last night and after what seemed like forever the battery light flashed 4 times. Maybe I was just not giving it enough time, I am pretty impatient.

Thanks for the replies.

When I did my BMS reset, my battery light flashed 4 times as well every time I did it. All write-ups mentioned 3, but I kept getting 4. I think it is fine...
