What do you think the best snow tires are in terms of tread life, grip, and price? I'm looking to get some for my EcoBoost when it comes in and I'm willing to pay a little more for something that's reliable and will last a while. Two tires I've had in mind are Blizzaks and the Hakkapeliitta R2.

I'm going with GT Radials Ice Pro on the stock 17 inch wheels. They cost $100 a tire and last a LONG time. Grip is fine. They are also studdable.

DEFINITELY go with the Nokians. The jump from Blizzacks to R2's is as big as the jump from all-seasons to Blizzacks.

I've run X-ice3, Blizzak WS-60, WS-70, and Observe H2s in the past (along with several other brands).

I haven't had Hakkapeliittas yet, so I can't comment on them. I just can't find them at a reasonable price.

I can say that the X-ice3 have been the best winter tire for me so far.

For us PP owners would a square set up for 255/40/r19 work for snow tires or do you think i could do a 245/40/r19 set up. most likely looking for blizzaks

I had both blizzaks and X-Ices. I found them both to be equally excellent in snow performance. The X-Ices though are noticeably louder on the road.

255/40R19 will work. 245/45R19 would also work.

Look at 255/45R19 tires for Porsche. Taller which is better in snow.

Pretty sure derieuz is running 245/45R19 on 19x8.5" AMR Blacks +30 offset.

Long talk with tire store that supplies my dealer. Discussed the limitations of an all season/all weather and the compound is the same as the Pirellis that come on Eco PP. Once the temp hits 7 - 10 C they all harden and performance sucks. So I am going with Hankook Ventus V12 EVO K110 High Performance Tire - 255/40R19 100Z . I was assured that these were the best option for the Mustang Eco PP.
My 2 cents

Edit: Hankook iCept Evo W310
