Morning all -

Looking at a set of snow tires...how much of a sidewall can I go up to on a stock base GT? not lowered or anything. I have the Pzero 255/40/19 and I see a set of 255/50/19 Blizzaks for sale, would that be too tall?

I just drove through snow in Chicago (not much) with Conti DWS 40 sidewall tires just fine.

40 sidewall is fine but if you want to get 50 cheaper, they'll probably fit but you're speedo will be thrown off a little and it'll look goofy. But who cares?

I run a 245/45/19 tire, fills the wheel well nicely. I think you *could* have a clearance problem with a 255/50

Your OD will be off and your Speedo will be off, 40 or 45 will do the trick just right.

Just don't go above 28" in diameter and you'll be ok. On your wheels, 245/45R19 would be ideal.
