Great topic…I’m in NY and the Olympic Highway near Whiteface Mountain is pretty epic. Lake Placid makes a good basecamp.

Here’s a combined list of the best North American roads…CA, CO, VA, TN/NC have a few for sure:

In Florida, the best roads for driving are those headed north, until you get most of the way through Georgia.

I‘m in New Jersey so pretty much anywhere but here😁
There are some stretches in western part of state near PA or north near NY But most is too congested.

Upstate New York is pretty good. Lots of mountains and twisties. Lately I’ve been spending a lot of time Marlboro NY. Lots of vineyards. It’s like a different world … so beautiful and so exspensive to live there
Have you been down near West Point and hit Storm King, Seven Lakes, Bear Mountain, and the Goat Trail (202)?

In CA east bound 80 or Rte 50 are great. Eventually you exit California.

Louisiana has one. La 6 going into Texas. It’s a three mile long bridge that crosses Toledo Bend. It’s probably the only road in Louisiana with no pot holes or tire ruts that Texas maintains.

Rt2 Mohawk Trail in western MA is nice as is the Kancamagus Highway in NH through the White Mountains ....I'll be following this thread and looking for some pointers....I'm leaving the Boston area in 2 weeks for Wauseon Ohio via Rt 6 through PA and then on to the Black Hills SD, after that who knows...
Short distance from Rt 2 Mohawk Trail where it enters NY is Mount Greylock. If you have time mid-week to visit it's a glorious ride up and down for almost 20 miles of switchbacks and such. You do not want to go on weekends (in-season) as it will be frustrating and dangerous with all the traffic.

Plenty of scenic, twisty roads in southern Vermont, but between locals driving 10 under, tourists terrified of driving in the mountains, deer and other animals, and heavy speed enforcement, it can be difficult to enjoy them.
I used to work up in Readsboro and I can agree with this except for amount of speed enforcement except on US 7 in my experience and even that is sparse.

I've been to Mt Greylock/ Quabbin Reservior several times on my motorcycle....from the North Shore area I follow Rt 2 to Williamstown then on to Bennington VT and follow Rt9 east back....nice ride especially during foliage season.

Go a little further north of Bennington and there is the Mt Equinox toll road. I've never driven it but I suspect it's a great time too.... @Kurt in VT appears to be in the neighborhood and might have some insight.
