If it's keyless couldn't they have made a smaller key? I know it's nitpicky but it still looks pretty big.
AGREED
That's standard. The fob needs to be large enough to handle so you can operate the lock/unlock/trunk/emergency buttons. Plus the fob will usually hold a real key inside of it in the event you need to manually unlock the car.
No it doesn't.
^^This. It has to contain a regular key in case the battery dies or something along those lines. That way you can get into your car no matter what.
Regular keys, as you put it, can be thin. (see my pic below)
I'd much rather have a standard fob. I hate that key card and would be annoyed every day if I had to use it.
False... You've never used one. Once you do, it's incredible.

No need to even push buttons. Those of us with a Lexus key card, can unlock the car by touching the door handle, lock the car by touching the door handle, pop the trunk by touching under trunk button, and start the car all while the key remains in our pockets.

I love my wallet key. It also will NOT let me leave a restaurant/bar/club unless I have my wallet with me. I love this thing.

My cars operate the same as your Lexus, but with a FOB...

I don't carry a wallet, I carry a money clip and keep it thin as possible, the wallet key adds bulk.

It's nice to have my FOB in hand when carrying packages for my trunk, instead of trying to push the button on the trunk, I push a button on the FOB, trunk pops up for easy access, yes, I have button on trunk but trust me, when your loaded with whatever, it's much easier with a FOB.

It's also more convenient to reach into your pocket for a FOB vs digging thru a wallet, so I can remotely open the Windows & Sunroof to let the hot air escape.

So, it's all a matter of preference...Coke or Pepsi-->:shrug:

You know you're a Mustang fan when you start talking about small cubbies inside the cabin.

I have smart entry in my 2014 Accord Coupe. I just leave the Fob in my pocket, its small enough. I can also lock & unlock doors just by touching outside handle... it's cool

I have used one, actually (Mercedes.)

My button question was related to accidental button-pushing when the key card is kept in a pocket or wallet. I know how the whole proximity thing works. ;)

I'm just more of a fob fan than a key card fan.

I'm sort of leaning the other way... I'd like to have two different lock features. One standard FOB lock with alarm, and one lock that told the car "You now cannot be unlocked without the physical key". FOB lock for home, physical key lock for downtown... With theft tech getting so good, I'm trusting electronics less and less. The fuse pull is also a good idea.

I have a 2013 Taurus limited with keyless entry and either keep the fob in my pocket or will toss it in the console when driving. With the fob the doors unlock with just a hand touch. I also have the touch keys on the B pillar to unlock the car. I've had an 09 convertible and an 11 GT/CS convertible and I hated having the keys in the ignition swinging around when I'm driving.
