Hey all,

Just picked up BBK shorty ceramic headers and found out that local shops want $500+ to install the damn things:doh:. I did not see that coming and wondering how difficult it is to install shorties? Can someone with experience chime in on this? I'm not mechanically inclined but do want to try it myself. Should I bother or go to a shop to do it?

I got mine installed at local ford dealer (Soren's ford) for $200. Do not over pay them !!

Exhaust shop quoted me 300 for shorty headers. You can totally do it yourself in about a day.

^ Just what the above says. You can certainly get them installed in a day with enough patients and wrenches/sockets. The most difficult part to me was separating the OEM headers from the mid-pipes. Whoever tightened those bolts on my car from the factory did a damn good job!

Do we have to remove anything on the passenger side or just have to squeeze the wrench and go at it?
