On my way home from work I noticed that my battery voltage gauge was fluctuating. At times, it would go as low as 12.2 or 12.4 stopped at light. At certain times driving it would go back up to 14.1V but it seemed to fluctuate from 12 to 13 to 14 and back down again.

I had a catback exhaust installed yesterday and didn't notice anything until just today.

Is this normal for my battery or is my battery low? I was going to load a tune in my car but I am afraid of running it low. And I am just concerned in general about my battery.

Any help you can give would be appreciated.

totally normal, the alternator is computer controlled, and it does it to to get better gas mileage, longer supposedly life out of battery. The car monitors amperage load, and temperature of battery. All manufactures are doing it now, In the trucks i know GM you have to hit the tow button otherwise the truck won't charge the camper battery very well cause they do the same thing.

did the catback installer disconnect your battery and perhaps did not reconnect it correctly?

As stated before... the voltage fluctuations are normal. It is a 'smart' system and will adjust voltage to the circumstances.

I'll bet that the 2015 models do not have the smart charging.
