In the 2015, is there a way to access the battery terminals (for storage charging) without removing the battery cover?

There's no info in the 2015 Owner's Manual about removing the cover over the battery or identifying any external terminals.

Thanks for any light shed.

I believe the positive terminal is re-routed to a post just outside of the covered battery housing.

Negative can be any exposed metal on the body; bolts on the strut tower, etc.

I thought that, too, but the little red plastic cube has not exposed metal to accept a 'gator clip.

I may just have to install ring terminals with a connector running outside the cover. That will wait until Spring.

LOL, the 2015 Owner's Manual doesn't show how to remove the cover.
Those easy DIY days from 1964, for me, are long gone. ;)

PS. Best wishes for your upcoming new arrival!

See if you can find a charger that uses inductive clamps, then you just hook them around the cables.

I just tried to hook up a battery tender today. I removed the plastic cover to expose the battery. I wanted to permanently mount the eyelets onto the pos & neg , then simply run the wires out from under the cover. This way I can just plug in the tender when needed. But there really is no way to do this. The cables are mounted to the battery with these strange plastic pulls that are secured with a nut. I guess I will have to pop that cover and use the old style alligator clips.

Has anyone figured out how to connect a battery tender eyelets to the red terminal? The Black terminal has a nut that can be removed and lets you attach the black eyelet to it, but the red terminal has none. I'm currently using the alligator grips but I want to put the battery cover back on and car cover back on the car for the winter. With the alligator grips I cannot put the battery cover back on.

Battery Terminal? (Solution)

This weekend I hooked up the "Battery Tender" trickle charger with the quick connect. I had the same theory on the terminal mount (plastic mounts) not being conductive. I was pleasantly surprised when I tested with my Volt Meter. I got the same voltage (~12) across the battery (POS to NEG) as I did for the Positive (Ramp Style) Connector to NEG terminal. I mounted the positive eyelet on the ramp-style terminal connector and hooked up the charger on Saturday evening and got a "Red" light (= Charging). On Sunday evening I had "Flashing Green" (= 80% Charged). On Sunday night I had a "Solid Green" light (= 100% Charged).

I love the Quick-Connect feature on the "Battery Tender" charging system. I was able to rout the quick connect outside of the battery cover so there is no need to remove the cover again until I need a new battery.

My 'battery minder' came with a polarized wire plug about a foot from the battery bolt rings. It was simple to unbolt the nuts on both battery connections and slip on the wire rings. The duplex wire is led out from under the reinstalled battery cover. I can unplug the wire from the minder and drive away. No need to remove the cover to 'charge' the battery.

hi, do you happen to have a picture of the eyelet connection points you used, specifically the positive?
Thanks!

I need help bad, my battery dies in 2 days like everyone elses, I need help determining where this positive terminal is because my alligator clamps dont open wide enough to clamp on the big metal ring, I attach it to the bolt and it doesnt do anything.. I leave it on 40A for 1 hour the DC Ammeter hasnt moved an inch. Im using a heavy duty charger that goes up to 200A for jump starting.

it has an engine!
I had not driven or started mine from 11/11 til this past friday. No tender. It started right up. I did put my deltran tender on it friday since its away for the winter. I had just been lazy and not put the tender on. My garage seems to keep a 50 degree temp in it through the winter regardless of temp though.
