Battery Question

Since I store several cars for winter, I'd like to attach some quick connect trickle charger leads to the battery terminals that will enable the charger to maintain the battery without needing to keep the hood open.

This has been easy on my older Mustangs. Just remove the clamping nut from each terminal connector, slide the eyelet onto the threaded clamping bolt and replace and tighten the clamping nut. But my newer 550s I particular seem to be using a particular kind of clamping but and bolt which don't allow the nut to be completely removed from the bolt which makes attaching the eyelet impossible.

Does anybody know if it's possible to completely remove the nut and replace it without permanently damaging or needing to replace them? If so, I'd be grateful for any insight into how best to do so.

I haven't hooked up my battery tender yet, but recently I did some searching of previous threads on here on the topic. It seems like the recommendation is to hook up the battery tender to the terminal on the fuse panel for the positive and to the body where one of the negative leads grounds. See this post for pictures.

yeah, i did what the was posted in the GT350 thread. it is pretty slick as you can just unhook, and leave the battery end connected and secure in the engine bay.

I've had my 2015 GT Premium with security package in the garage covered for 2 months. I pulled back the cover today, and none of the lights went on when I opened the door. I connected my trickle charger to the battery, and every few seconds the car makes some noises almost like the fuel pump is cycling on and off.
My gut sense is to disconnect the battery and charge it, but will I lose any settings/kill the radio settings if I do that?
Help me out anyone?

If you want to connect a battery tender to the battery, use the ring connectors provided and using a tin snips cut the rings open and expand the rings enough to fit the battery posts. I found that I could loosen the battery nuts enough to insert the widened rings into the posts.
