Base vs PP Rear Shocks

I'm upgrading to PP shocks/struts and noticed that the PP rear shock has a different shaft than the base shock. Do I need to buy a new bump stop that fits snug on the PP shaft, or is it supposed to be loose? The bump stop fits snug around the base shaft.

1st image is base on top, PP on bottom. 2nd image is bump stop on PP shock (loose around shaft). 3rd image is bump stop on base shock (tight around shaft).

Huh...so the PP shaft is smaller in diameter it looks like. That's interesting...

I'd guess that...if the bump stop can hold its position (top), there is no need to get a new one.

You don't need new bump stops at all. All gt models use the same bumps stops except the one with 20 inch wheels and is only the front.

It can't hold its position and just slides down. I reinstalled the base shocks and ordered new bumpstops for the PP shocks.

That's what I found out from digging as well. But it looks like the thicker shaft of the base shock made the bumpstop hole to big for the PP shock.

That is fine. The bump can be loose and still function perfectly fine.

There are two model numbers for the GT bump stops. The one you want for the PP (smaller shaft diameter) is FR3Z-5K570-C. The one for the base model (larger shaft diameter) is FR3Z-5K570-A.
