Guys, I wanna make my base rear diffuser and lower part of the bumper black. Did you or would you wrap or paint the rear diffuser and lower part of the bumper? Would heat from the exhaust damage the wrap? Cost difference? Pros and cons?

Any help is appreciated.

Wrapping seems like it would be expensive. I know a lot of guys have used plastidip. I tried it but since it's such a large area it hard to get the tape off in time so it doesn't peel. Another guy used bumper paint. I think paint is a better option since you can take your time and not have to worry about it peeling. However it is permanent and there is no going back. Here's a post of the guy that painted it.

My car was wrapped for over a year, including the lower diffuser in 3m 1080 Gloss Metallic Black. There were absolutely no heat issues and it was even easier to car for then paint. Little water and a rag was all you needed to keep it clean (whole car).

I would get a quote for the wrap and paint before making a decision.

Wow beautiful pictures! Thanks for the info. I'm gonna get a quote for both and see which costs less. But I would think they would cost about the same with the difference being that paint is permanent.

Thanks! I think they would be about the same as well. Can't imagine it costing more than a couple hundred to wrap the bottom section.

IMO you should wrap it, that way you can remove if you want or redo if it ever got jacked up.
