Long story short , my rear wing was removed to install PPF and then replaced. When looking under the wing, from the back of the car towards the front. The front corners of the wing supports are not sitting on the trunk. A clear gap can be seen.

Is this normal?

Mind that I'm no 500 owner, but that almost looks like the adhesive used to hold the spoiler down (past the bolts) isn't adhered properly. It definitely doesn't look right.

Yeah you can clearly see the double sided tape stuck to the spoiler and not trunk.

The Mach 1 folks are running into this as well.

Just went out and checked mine. There is a very small gap on the right hand side (smaller than the OP's), the left side is completely flush. My wing has not been off that I know of.

The shop is hesitant to pull and redo the wing. So much so they went to a dealer, found a GT500 (I assume used) and took a video trying to show there was a gap under the wing.

I paid a lot of money to have the factory stripes pulled, complete PPF, then PPF black stripes installed over top. Then ceramic coated.

This wing install drives my ocd into hyper drive. I’m not a fabricator but I am very detail oriented. If you saw the engine bay of my former 03’ Cobra you would know what I mean.

This wing, if it is installed wrong, needs to be fixed.

I took a standard business card and slide it under the driver side wing support, in the front corner and slide approximately 1/2 the business card under it.

For a brief moment, one of the first few days after getting the car back from full PPF install, I got the wing to stick down. I could no longer see a gap. Then later it came up again.

Briefly when the wing was down more, I could not see light under the corners and with the same business card the amount it slid under the corner was like the size of your thumbnail going under the front inside edge corner. Imagine a V(two edges of the wing) on your thumbnail. Then after the car sat in the sun, heated and cooled, the wing came back up.

Mine has a gap too. My detailer pulled it and added new 3M double sided tape and it still has a small gap.

How did and now how does your wing compare to mine?

Like I said the shop that did the PPF install isn’t thrilled about removing the wing. I’m assuming because of the potential damage it’s gonna do to the PPF under the trunk.

Side note: they ran the stripes under the wing which I’m certain doesn’t help with getting the wing to sit flat.

Pretty much the same.

Bump. More replies the more it helps. The car is currently back at the PPF shop.
