Has anyone had any experience with putting new rear gears in our cars? I have the base model 3:15, and I want to jump up to 3:73. If so, where did you buy your gears from?

Don't think 3.73 will fit in the 3.15 housing. You will need to swap the entire diff.

There's a couple of us that have 3.73's. Your 3.15 housing will not work. Best option is look for a complete carrier out if a GT PP

Also, be aware that Ford uses cast steel housings for the manual transmissions, and aluminum for the automatic...but I'm wondering if an aluminum 3.73 housing will work ok in a MT car? Since it is engineered for the V8, I'm thinking you could probably get away with aluminum on the manual in the ecoboost... ;)

Oh, and obviously a diff swap where you're changing ratios is going to require a PCM re-flash to tell the PCM about the new rear end ratio!
