OK, so does anyone know which ones do regulate voltage according to demand? I've got the DW400 that was supplied with the Whipple Stage II kit and considering adding a BAP for insurance.

Not to derail the thread, but do all of the boost a pumps regulate voltage upon demand of ecu?
The bap increases the votage supplied to the FPDM. The FPDM is what converts the pcm PWM output (0-50% or 75 for off) into a final voltage supplied to the pump. So upon installation of the typical bap, the fpdm output increases by ~50% at all times. This means that at idle it’s pushing way more fuel than the pcm intends and the pressure will ride on the 72 psi regulator…unless the tuner knows how to manipulate the slope and offset in the tune to change that. Most tuners will tell you that is unnecessary because they just don’t know how to fix it.

This is why the JMS unit is superior. You can command WHEN it actually steps up voltage based on demand.

I’ve been kicking this around. Does it plug and play into the pedal position sensor?

I actually want one for the higher voltage but can’t find much on the dw400 ability to be reliable at 22 volts?

I believe you can set it to initiate the voltage step up by MAF voltage or Throttle position %.

No doubt in my mind, that the DW400 wouldn’t be able to handle 22V intermittently for a LONG time.

Well this seems like the way to go then. DW400 and JMS booster

Im looking at the JMS, am i right that essentially it is is plug and play into the pump harness and into the pedal position sensor under the dash and its that simple??

Well for $200 more I will take that over the VMP and not have to worry about the fuel pressure being too high at idle and low throttle

Now the decision is which one to get, the Fuel Max or Fuel MaxEZ. Does anyone have experience with either of the two?

it looks like the EZ doesnt even need a throttle signal?? I guess i would go with that one as long as its not boosting any at idle and low throttle

Looking at the EZ instructions it looks like it's automatic at 60%+ pump demand. This seems like the way to go

With the comment that Cory made about the 22vdc. I'm probably going to with the FuelMax with the pedal switch. You can limit the max to either 18vdc or 22vdc. Plus it's got other functions that the EZ doesn't. Better to have and not need than need and not have. Thank goodness I came across this thread while there are the 10 percent sales going on.

It does kind of suck its at 22v. Have to wonder how often a DW400 will see 60% demand in my 5k a mile year weekend toy. It could last for a long time at 700 whp and my particular usage.

Though in the end the pedal harness wiring isnt exactly tough.
