Bama Tune and FR (Borla) Touring Cat Backs

I've got FR's touring cat backs on order and hope to have them installed this week.

Also, Van at Bama Performance confirmed today that their tune should not affect the driving modes and that the tune will be just fine with the cat backs.

Given this, after I get the cat backs on, I'm seriously considering getting a Bama tune, installing it, and then taking it to a local performance tune guy to have everything checked out.

I think the cat backs and tune will definitely make for a better sound and unleash a little more power and responsiveness from the engine. Not sure what kind of HP gains though. Any thoughts from you modification-wise members?

Congratulations on your '15, I'm incredibly jealous! I've had my eye set on an Oxford White car for some time now and I think I'll be able to swing it once there's about 12" of snow on the ground here :lol:

I just got to hear the Ford Racing Touring Catback not too long ago and I was pretty blown away and the amount of sound it threw. I'm definitely in line for one once I get my car.

In regards to the Bama X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner I think it should be everyone's first mod! I can personally attest to their ability to not only extract some extra HP from the 5.0 but to make the car overall that much more fun to drive.

For each and every Bama Tune, they're going to ask you 19 questions about your specific Mustang, including your unique set up and intended use, in an easy to use web form. This information allows us to write an entirely custom tune just for your specific vehicle to ensure we deliver the most power and performance possible.

Bama Custom Tunes are developed in-house on our Dynojet 224xLC chassis Dyno. They've put in Hours of research and development through street, track and dyno testing/datalogging which left us with fully refined custom tunes. The Bama Performance team has exclusive access to our inventory of parts as well!

We also are part of Fords Technology Transfer Program & Work very closely with Ford to insure that all of our tunes are perfect!

I would even take it a step further and start to look into a JLT Cold Air Intake as well to help the car breathe more efficiently. If you're going to be uncorking the car on the exhaust side there's no reason why you shouldn't on the intake side!

Hey-That's a great question and from what we can tell on our end SCT doesn't have any plans to make their tunes downloadable via Mac but there's been a large outcry for them to do so, making an educated guess I would think they're going to have something brought out to accommodate their mac customers (myself included) where we could receive tunes via Cloud.

Saw in another forum while searching who was still doing the "ghost tune" posted by someone from at AM (can't remember who posted it). It was somewhere around spring mentioned.

Great news, current AM/Bama customer (X3/Bama tunes, JLT intake, AMR wheels/tires, push start, etc) and don't really want to go elsewhere for $200 to get a lope tune. Rather get it with the tuner in one package deal with free tunes for life.

Hey Guys! Sorry about this I'm completely losing my vision! That's a great question and it's a real tough one. There's going to be some modification friendly and not so friendly dealers out there and if they're looking hard enough they will be able to see if the car was tuned but it wouldn't be something where you're going in for new fluids, your OBDII is accessed and Flags/Alarms start going off!

This could void your warranty and I would personally recommend contacting your dealer and speaking with a service advisor to get a definitive answer on this for you as it could honestly change from dealer to dealer!

I think the touring and bama tune combo is what I'm going to go with as well although I might go with the Steeda intake instead of JLT...

Just loaded the Bama tune. The actual download of the tune to the car from the handheld went smoothly.

But what was a pain in the arse was updating the handheld device from the Updater file that I had to download to my PC. But I worked thru the glitches and got it done.

Started the car up and all seems fine. Now for a little road test. Not expecting a whole lot of difference but I'm assuming I should pick up 20 to 30 or HP. Maybe I'll be able to feel the difference; maybe not I suppose. Twenty HP added to a 435 HP to the crank car is not that much of a percentage gain. But I'm off to find out with a butt dyno. I'll report back shortly if I don't get thrown in jail.

I installed the FR/Borla Sport Catback, Airaid CAI, & SCT X4 Tuner with the 93 octane Track tune from BAMA Performance on my 2015 GT/PP and damn what a difference it made. It's an absolute beast now. I would definitely recommend a CAI with the other two mods.

Well, she snarls and growls now fellows. I could definitely tell a difference. The FR touring cat backs and Bama tune have upped the ante.

I don't know if it's a significant HP gain, but it feels more powerful. She feels stronger and more responsive. And the sound is saweet. And if you like Sport mode on the stock GT, you'll love it after a tune.
