Well, I didn't want to believe it but I now have confirmation through a reliable source that the stripes do in fact fade out at each end of the car. I know some of you said that your dealers had confirmed it but I couldn't be sure that they had actually checked properly. So I asked on the Ford Australia Facebook page. When they came back with the same answer I was still sceptical so tried the main Ford Facebook page. No reply from them so it was time to try the Single Point of Truth - Deysha from FordService on this forum.

Deysha came back to me this morning and confirmed that the images on the brochures and websites are an accurate representation of the stripes. :faint:

I think I want to see some pictures of real cars with these stripes before I make my final decision on whether to delete the option. We should start seeing them on US cars with the 2016 model year so I'll start a thread in the appropriate part of the main forum to see if I can attract some.

A big thanks to Deysha for following up for me.

i actually like them on a guard or magnetic, but they do not suit most of the colours, also the blue ones that US gets on the white dont look too bad, its a nice change from the "camaro" stripes you see on every VE SS and it kinda brings a classic style into the modern design which is what the new mustang is all about isn't it?

i just dont get what everybody is whinging about, but i am getting a race red with no stripes so it doesn't affect me in any way.

My stealer told me the same thing and I cancelled my stripes option.
You can always get it done from the local shop anyway, about $100 cheaper!

One of the US dealers has a 2016 with the stripes in stock.

They don't look as bad as I was expecting to be honest - not that I have them ordered on mine though.

Controversy about the stripes is a storm in a tea cup.

The simple solution is if you like the things get them, if not then don't put them on.

People are getting their balls in a knot as if Homer Simpson designed this car.

Continue the discussion gents :p
