Anyone notice increase backfire with the mak hurricane pipe. I am catless but never really had any backfires until the new inlet went on. Seems to only happen when i push the clutch in instead of letting tge car decelerate on its own. This only happens maybe 3 or 4 times in an hour drive. Anything i should be concerned about?

I dont have the new mak inlet, but my car shoots flames out the exhaust inbetween shifts.Dont think its anything to worry about, probably just extra fuel igniting in the exhaust.U could run a lov and look at a/f and maf though.

I don't have the mak inlet yet either but I have also been told my car shoots flames. Usually during wot shifts and when I let off the throttle sometimes.

Mine back fires with a stock Procharger inlet. Mine is a matter of no cats and really no exhaust. Lol

A backfire is when fuel ignights in the intake. Fire comes out said intake.
Residual fuel in the exhaust system would cause flames out the tailpipe.
Old carb engines that had ignition or valve timing issues would backfire shooting flames up through the carb and burning off your eyebrows.
Are you sure we are talking about the same thing here?

What lol,who told u that?u can have a back fire out the exhaust, excess fuel in the exhaust that ignites, guys use to blow the mufflers off their cars playing around back in the day.His backfire is from having no cats and probably being just a little rich causing a backfire.Backfires from the i take are a completley different thing. They say these new mak pipes can give up too 2 psi extra boost so he may want to check his a/f,but thats just us kids guessing:thumbsup:
