Back On Guard

Yesterday I had very confident (and convincing) confirmation from Ford that all orders taken as MY16 cars will get the colours they ordered (including Guard - the best one ).
All outstanding MY16 cars will be built between now and end of May: though the computer may currently say that they are all being built on April 25 - that is just a holding position - the individual build dates will gradually 'populate' the whole of the rest of March through to end of May.

MY17 cars get the new colours, plus SYNC 3.

And it clearly says on your order form whether yours is a MY16 or MY17 car.

i've had my CO build confirmed by Karen & Stacey. 25th April was when I was told also.

because it is Ford.

Discontinuing colours filled me with dread and trepidation - would Ford honour my order... would I get an email after X months saying 'you will need to choose a new colour, back to the end of queue with you'.

I wouldn't be surprised given Ford's seemingly incompetence via dealers et al if they hand simply decided not to process discontinued colours. :headbonk:

I ordered 20/02 so officially an MY16. Went to my dealer last Friday and he checked Vista for me. I have not been set a build date of the 25/04/16 so he is expecting mine to be built post June as a MY17.

Not that this affects me as I went Race Red (and not overly fussed about Sync2/3)

maybe they are making sure all those ordering discontinued colours are getting priority build before end of May.

Who knows.......Ford works in mysterious ways!

Why worry about this [MENTION=20439]Jimboy2[/MENTION]? Because of what others have experienced (i.e., a far from smooth ordering process) and the fact that this is the first time UK buyers have undergone a transition of Mustang model years. But who knows - it may all go perfectly to plan!
