Doing both engages the flux capacitor. Guys at the track doing this with e85 are running mid 9's. ;)
Flux capacitor, this one? [ame]

I'm second guessing as I usually drive in D with S+ engaged, when I tried S with S+ at the same time the first few 10KM I was in sluggish traffic so probably there comes my impression from that the rear end was a bit heavy. Since the car breaks & revs more on the engine in both S modes, I assume although not sure that the breaks are gently kicking in as well.
When I got back home I checked the paper manual and noticed a part that said S is useful when going uphill etc. or want to use the paddle's. But to me just in D & S+ is powerful enough for most of my daily driving, I usually engage S+ on the fly as soon as I see that my oil is warmed up. (both engine oil & trans oil)

The Flux Capacitor only comes on GT Premium models. LOL That said I generally just slip it into Sport mode on the stick. I think I will compare both to see if a difference can be detected.

That's exactly how it's supposed to work. In D, your letting the tranny control, you don't. In S you control the shifts. (to the extent that the system protects you from bonehead maneuvers like, um forgetting to shift altogether).

You all are way overthinking this. The drive modes don't 'unlock' any more power in the engine, they are just a faster way to adjust the input parameters that you already have control over.

Normal mode - Trans in D = slow throttle, full TC, user selectable steering, economy shifting with the paddle shifting being returned to ECU control after a couple seconds.

Normal mode - Trans in S = aggressive throttle, full TC, user selectable steering, aggressive shifting with shifting never returning to the ECU after a paddle is used.

S+ mode - Trans in D = aggressive throttle, partial TC, sport steering, aggressive shifting with the paddle shifting being returned to ECU control after a couple seconds.

S+ mode -Trans in S = aggressive throttle, partial TC, sport steering, aggressive shifting with shifting never returning to the ECU after a paddle is used.

The main difference with S+ and normal mode is the Traction control setting which can be achieved in base models by double tapping the TC button, and the ability to have the aggressive shifts return to ECU control after using the paddles if you leave the trans in D. Of course you could always just quickly switch the trans from S to D and back to S again if you don't have Sport+ and it would do the same thing.

Track mode fully disables Traction Control and uses a very un-obtrusive form of stability control. Other than that it is the same as Sport+.

Actually track mode does not completely disable TC. I was at the track last year and forgot to turn off TC on my first run. I was in Track mode in the burnout box and she refused to spin the tires. I had to hold the TC toggle for 5 seconds to completely turn off the TC.
Other than that everything else is exactly as jjsotolongo says.

I did notice, once you set it in S mode on stick the normal mode disappears on the toggle switch, it makes sense though.
