Yeah but for a daily driver 90% of your time is going to be in stop-and-go traffic. Seems kind of pointless, I dunno.FOR FUN lol not meant for gas economy

X2The 6R80 is decent. If you've driven a dual clutch or ZF 8-speed transmission you'd realize how far behind the 6R80 is in terms of responsiveness, but it's absolutely bulletproof and can take anything you throw at it (unlike the MT82).
Completely agreed... shifting when the wheel is turned is a huge pain in the ass. If the wheel is upside down you have to do mental gymnastics to figure out which paddle is up and which is down... that blows. Wish either the paddles were column mounted (so left is left and vice versa regardless of steering angle) or they gave you a tiptronic gate on the shifter. Weird oversight by Ford... hell the S197 had the little +/- rocker switch on the shifter, they could have kept that!
Edit: one thing to add that I didn't like from my EcoBoost rental that I had. In sport/track mode it seems very eager to downshift when in D or S but the 6R80 is just not quick enough with the shift execution. The result is that I dig into the throttle pedal for more power but it decides to downshift which takes some time, now I'm down a gear and getting more power than I wanted. Result is I tended to stay in non-sport/track mode to prevent that. Maybe a tune could fix that behavior?
That's the killer feature of the Challenger. I'd buy one if it had a better interior and I could fit the damn thing in my garage. If the Mustang came with a ZF 8-speed I would be sold.
I did, but to be honest I really don't feel the difference from my base S197 GT when it's in normal mode.Did you get the 3.55 ^ . Also the rev matching thing is pretty cool . For me coming back from driving a truck last year or so that engine just pulls so hard lol . I drove the stick and while I enjoy it in a open road once I hit traffic I hate it.
I have the 3.15's, and normal mode is very quiet and reserved unless I put my foot way down. I've also been getting 20 - 21mpg in cityish driving. and 25 - 26 for highway in "D". Though once I engage sport everything down to 16 - 18... Oh well still more economical than my 98 F-250 LD snow/rain mobile.I did, but to be honest I really don't feel the difference from my base S197 GT when it's in normal mode.
I also find the car to be very reserved and almost (dare I say) sluggish in normal mode. Switching to sport mode makes a world of a difference, but unfortunately it's hard for me to use sport mode too much while i'm driving around NYC. I'm going home for a week on Thursday and aside from the 10 hour roadtrip, i'm really looking forward to driving the car outside of the confined streets you find around here.I have the 3.15's, and normal mode is very quiet and reserved unless I put my foot way down. Yea, I mean the power is definitely there no matter what mode i'm in. There's just seems to be a significant difference in throttle sensitivity. It's all about the throttle tuning. Sport mode speeds it up. It's really no different than just giving it more gas. Gives the false feeling of faster throttle response. Unfortunately, that's also how many "tooners" out there give the feeling of better throttle response.
It also keeps the rev higher, so that it's closer to the optimum power band rather than lower for economy sake. It also engine brakes which is noticeable in fast corners. It also adjusts the traction control and tones down the other Nanny bits. It's all about the throttle tuning. Sport mode speeds it up. It's really no different than just giving it more gas.
