Going to take my 17 GT auto Australian spec GT with 3.55's to the drags in a couple of days.
Have years of bracket race experience but not with modern cars
From what I've been reading you turn traction control off but leaving it drive or sports mode makes no difference
Is that right, thanks for any input

One strange thing I've noticed is that on the street it noses over just before the change into 2nd gear. Is that normal?

Drag mode, it will keep the engine in the powerband when shifting. Not sure on the 2nd gear thing.

Doh, 17's dont have drag mode?

yeah no drag mode, so I guess its sport mode
It's almost like it hits the limiter in 1st gear

You need to log it and make sure your not hitting the rev limiter!

Took it to the drags
Was a cold night with 90% humidity
[email protected] mph with a 2.14 sixty ft
Another run got 1.94 60 ft but I accidentally had the wrong mode and it didn't change out of first gear
So probably good for 12.9 sec
Australian cars are 410 HP because of right hand exhaust manifold design

Locate the little plug near the airbox. Unplug it. Even when you have ESC/TC off, the nannies are still there slightly.
I’ve rigged mine to a switch in the cabin.
Try that and see what happens (warning: the car may be a bit more loose than you’re used to and it is NOT going to try and help you).

Hey guys. What pressure are you running your stock tyres? Do you do it hot or cold?

Honestly, it won’t make THAT much of a difference.
Allow me to explain it better....
A steel belted radial “all round performance tyre” has tonnes of sidewall strength. Hence you don’t tend to see when the tyres are running a little low in pressure.
By contrast, something like a bias ply has almost no sidewall and might run somewhere between 8-18psi cold.
The difference is that the bias ply will “sit down” when you take air out, increasing the LENGTH of the contact patch substantially with every psi dropped.
What I’m saying is, you could drop the pressure from 38- 25psi and see very little difference in your 60’ time.
Just focus on getting them warm. Second or third gear burnout usually sorts it out.

Oh okay, thanks for that. Can you suggest maybe slicks or semi slicks that won't be too expensive? Something who's sole purpose is for the track.

Do you want something drag specific or circuit also?
Manual or auto?
