That's too loud for my liking, and wouldn't pass the daily driver test.

Yeah I totally get that. It is very loud when you get into it and also on cold starts but you can drive it quietly too. Borla have done an amazing job to make it as quiet as it is when doing suburban speeds in 4th or highway speeds in 6th but yet still extremely loud when you want it to be. I also like that at idle it's quiet so it won't attract an wanted attention unless when just sitting at the lights.

Not annoying on the highway but still loud when you put your foot down.
Fitment looks off but it's just the angle I shot it from.

I have decided to go with Borla s type cat back system at this stage. What header options do we have later?

Di Fillipo, Pacemaker, Kooks, Xforce.

I would recommend them in that order

Can I ask I've skimmed as many pages as I can and no body has mentioned the Roush S550 Active 5.0L Active Quad Exhaust Package. Any feedback, anyone have this?

http://www.mustangmotorsport.com.au/roush-s550-5-0l-active-quad-exhaust-package.html
I have heard it quite a few times in person. It is a loud exhaust when open, closed it sounds muffled. It is extremely expensive for what it is and is not to my tastes. But I do know some people love the sound. You should try and jump on the facebook group to see if you can hear it in person.

Also having a butterfly valve installed in the exhaust aftermarket technically is not permitted, just something for you to keep in mind.

I've heard this in person also. Very loud when it's fully open, nice and quiet when it's closed.

It was going to be the preferred option for me, but after a bit of research I found out that any exhaust fitted with a mechanism that allows the user to easily adjust the volume of an exhaust will render the vehicle non-compliant with EPA regulations. I'm not willing to spend $5k for an exhaust that will potentially need to be ripped out.

As far as the xforce (varex) mufflers go, I found a few reviews advising that they tend to drone. For the sake of transparency, I have never heard them in person and the reviews came from non-Mustang owners.

FWIW, I'll be going with a Borla S-Type CB :) (still non-EPA compliant, but at least I will only be out $2k if I get done)

I have to say the video is quite good I enjoy it but the exhaust you can get the equivalent elsewhere for cheaper without the heavy Roush/Mustang tax .
