Dunno about the ATAK, but I've got the (slightly) louder Corsa Xtreme. No issues with police (touch wood), but I admit it is ridiculously loud when opened up. Driving normally isn't too obnoxious, sounds great but guaranteed it'll still turn 90% of heads you drive past. Get used to people pointing, giving thumbsup, pulling up alongside to have a chat, kids yelling out "MUSTANG" etc haha. I've had one hater yell out "wanker", to which I gave an obligatory smile and thumbsup.

Sounds like a jet engine at cold start though, tossing up ideas to quieten it down. Whatever you get, it will be louder than you bargain for lol
I actually like the sound of that a lot. If it's really only extreme at WOT I think I could live with that. You'll always get the haters regardless of the exhaust, I think that's just the type of car the Mustang is, some just love to hate it, most love it though.

Jet engine on start up could have its downsides though. My neighbours should be ok, they've never complained at any of my previous GT Falcon's.

You'll sacrifice a fair amount of volume. I've heard the ford racing sport catback (and driven behind it on the road), which I think is supposed to be about on par with the s-type. It does sound great, and definitely a lot more street friendly volume-wise, but if you get the s-type you'll always be wondering what could've been. Embrace the rasp :ninja:
ha ha ha!! Embrace the rasp hey. Hmmmm, I'm only 36 but I really love that old school deep burble. I also like them loud!

One thing I did notice from videos was that it only seemed ridiculously loud when you put you boot into it, I could be wrong though.

I heard a Ford performance sport AB on a GT and it's hardly loud. That said when he heard my exhaust Roush AB with a H pipe, he is now putting a H pipe too.
My exhaust is loud but not annoying. I have driven with windows down to hear those lovely notes again and again for which I bought the car.
One thing I noticed is unless you change the headers, any exhaust Is fine and you can easily control the volume by deciding how you take off and how often you step on pedal.

Even my car sounds no too loud if I take off normally and drive normal.
Which I did when I drove past a cop last weekend and he didn't even notice me.
So I am assuming ATAK will be a good choice and will only be loud if you step on pedal.

Putting on the Roush axle back this week at Mustang Motorosport :)
I had it painted in satin black and tips gloss black
Finally had it installed today. Perfect sound inside the cabin due to being a straight through muffler, no vibrations. On low revs you can hardly hear it, but sounds great when you open it up. Very happy with the choice :)

Can anyone with a Borla Touring Cat-Back provide advice on whether or not it would be suitable for strata living?

My car is housed in an underground apartment complex garage and, whilst I would like a better sound than stock, I can't really afford to be pissing off the neighbours.

Thanks in advance!

The cheaper option would be just deleting the resonator with x or H pipe and keep stock mufflers, it will bring same or similar results without costing couple grands.
Borla Touring is only very slightly louder than stock. You would hardly notice a big difference.
Deleting resonator will be slightly louder than stock and provide you extra rumble without being loud and costing too much.
You can always add an AB later if you like.

Exactly what I did, had a guy in kogarah cut out the resonator and made up an h pipe. I'm real happy with it, sounds good without being too loud (although I'm sure that will come later). Best couple hundred odd bucks I've spent :)

Hi Drewbo - I have one sitting in my garage... so not much good to you for an opinion yet. I bought it from Hypermotive and they were very flexible. I chose it because it has a middle resonator and liked the sound clip (American Muscle I think) . That and no drone.

Good luck

Borla touring has a nice deep tone and is louder than stock at low revs but by no means offensive.

For anyone interested, the best price I have been quoted from a US seller is $1400 USD delivered - works out to be around $1865 AUD at today's rate whilst also running the risk of being hit up for GST, duty and import charge (total would end up being around $2195).

Best Exhaust in the ACT will overnight the same system to Sydney for $2198.

Good stuff here :)

I've got my X pipe waiting to go on once my wallet recovers from some other stuff - the Xpipe was really cheap from CJPP with the Labor Day sale.

If that doesn't cut it, the Borla Touring from Best Exhaust sounds like the icing

Any recommendations for an installer south of the Harbour Bridge who would be willing to install a BYO exhaust?

Some companies seem a little hesitant to fit things that they don't supply.

I'd heard good things, but old mate wanted to charge me 300 for the same thing. When I said I'd have to get another quote, he said "when you bring it back, I charge you more". Suffice to say I saved myself the hassle and battled through it on my own
